My Time Made Easy Official Opening!

>> Saturday, January 2, 2010

(For those that usually tune in on the 3rd for the kick off sneak peeks for PMS, that release has been moved back to the 14th, with sneak peeks starting on the 11th, more details on the company blog)

WHEW! It's here! The official grand opening of My Time Made Easy!
I am so stinkin' excited to show these projects to you! And the stamps! OH the stamps are AMAZING!!! Thick, clear, easily repositionable! LOVE them! And these butterflies! Oh i dont know that i'll ever want to use another butterfly set again! And i LOVE butterflies!

I love how elegant and pretty but unsuspecting butterflies are! They just perch themselves whether they'd like. I love looking over a bush and spying a butterfly just sitting there, minding it's own business. This was my first thought too when i got my first peak of this GORGEOUS Pretty Packaging © template Lauren created called "All A Flutter". I wanted to make a planter out of it.
Here are um... a LOT of pictures! hahaha!

Can you spot all the butterflies perched within the flowers? Some of them are half butterflies like you seeing them with their wings folded in and some are full butterflies with their wings open! This set makes me so happy! Can you tell?! haha!
Now included in the All A Flutter stamp set, are NUMEROUS butterfly stamps. It's really a build-a-butterfly set if you will! lots of different patterns for the inside of the wings. Various different outlines. And a few smaller sentiments (one that you'll see on my matching card here in a moment!). For this project, i used the thick solid butterfly outline and then colored in each section of wings with copics. it gave a but of a rainbow/tie-dyed effect.
Here's a quick closeup of one the butterflies...

There is another stamp set being released as well called All A Flutter Sentiments. There are lots of beautiful quotes about butterflies in this stamp set! In all different fonts. Hmmm... can you wonder why i chose the quote i did for my project??? Here's a close up view...

(ok, if you cant guess it's just one of my favorite fonts, but it also goes along with why i love butterflies!

I also made a matching card for this planter.... Here's an overview of the 2 together...

And a close up of the card...

The sentiment used at the bottom of my card is one of the sentiments that comes with the All A Flutter stamp set (the one that has the butterflies). I really like that font too! I have a feeling it's going to me the "My Time" font we will get to see again and again! YIPPIE! :)

And now... can you handle it? I get to show you ANOTHER template. :) Yep, Lauren is releasing 2 templates this month with her 2 stamp sets! And they are all wonderfully interchangeable! You gotta love that! This one is insanely versatile! Just a go to template really! You could put ANYTHING in there!

This time i'm going to start with my overview of the project!

For this project, i used the thinner butterfly outline and just stamped it all over my cardstock. I took the idea from one of the new pretty printables digital paper (oh yes... she's releasing new digi paper too!) I totally meant to them USE the digi paper on this project and suddenly, it was finished and i hadnt used the paper! WOOPS! it's ok, i did use it on a project i'm going to be showing you tomorrow! But you really should check out the paper! it is FAB!

Here's an fun little way to show all the way around the template. I got the idea from fellow design team member, Mona. She's so smart! She often shows her templates in a 360 view and i think thats just so neat!
Here's the turn around view...

Nifty huh? I just wanted you to see the pretty butterflies popped out all around the outside. AND for those of you who have a cutting machine, these little butterflies are also available in cut files. Too bad i didnt have mine yet when i did this project! hahaha! Same goes for the butterflies in the above project!

Now my candle was just a simple white candle that was in my box of "alterables" so i'm not positive where i got it, but probably the dollar store? Thats where i get most of my candles!
You can see the full tutorial of how to stamp on candles here on splitcoast.
Here's a closeup view of my candle...

For both the candle and card, i used the solid butterfly stamp and then made the butterfly body with a separate stamp available in the set. The sentiment of course is one of the other awesome quotes from the All A Flutter Sentiments set.

Here's a view of the card...

I really wanted the card to reflect the image of the candle so i used a solid white as my background and stamped right onto it (as opposed to before when i cut the butterflies out)
The sentiment on my card is another from the All A Flutter butterfly set.

And i just have to include one little last bit to my post! The way the top of this template closes is just so neat! And i noticed that with the bow tied on top, you dont really get to see it, so i shot this little video that shows you the top but also shows you how very easy it is to open and close!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Please dont forget to stop by the rest of the teams blogs today to check out some AMAZING creations!

Katie these are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! Rockin' awesome girl. I love your planter - it is stunning and the colors are so vivid and cheery. Love the multi colored butterflies - very cool. Your cards are so pretty and I must learn the stampin on a candle technique - that is way cool. You have done an outstanding job of showcasing Lauren's new products - SO fun and inspiring. Big HUGS for all you did to help make the opening so successful - the blinkies are wonderful and your video of the shutt-erfly is a great idea!!! I also love the 3D view of your box - that's way cool. I saw Mona's but have not tried it myself.

Fabulous creations Katie! I love your vibrant take on the All A Flutter template & the coordinating card is beautiful! The little butterfly really pops off the card & the embossing looks wonderful! Your Shutterfly gift set is very soft & pretty. I love how you stamped on the candle - how creative is that?! Great job showcasing Lauren's new MTME products!

Kristin Eberline Sunday, January 03, 2010

Good gracious girl, HOW do you manage to keep up with everything you do and a *normal* everyday life?! You are my hero.

I LOVE that you created a planter with a gorgeous floral arrangement allowing your pretty little butterflies to perch in peace...inconspicuously throughout. What a great idea...and you're so right. That is how you would come across them in nature. Minding their own business sitting there looking pretty! Oh and I have to say I love your coloring and how you layered the panels on the template! Very striking!

Love the second set you created also! It's so elegant with the candle you added the sentiment and butterflies too (GREAT idea). When I first looked at your Shutt-erfly project I scratched my head wondering how you made the paper lighter and the design a little different. It wasn't until I read your post that I realized you created your own version using Lauren's stamps! What a fantastic idea! Gives LOTS of options when it comes to color!!! I may be copying that thought sooner than later ;] LOL

Lisa Kind Sunday, January 03, 2010

Katie, these projects are fabulous! Love the careful thought you put into each and every one! Your video is fantastic so we can see what it really looks like, and I love your 360 view! Congrats on a great opening!

Michele Kovack Sunday, January 03, 2010

Both of these are fabulous!!! Love the bright happy colors in the first one!

Great blog you got here. It would be great to read something more about this theme. The only thing your blog misses is a few pics of any gizmos.
