PMS Digi Makeover challenge #48

>> Monday, August 6, 2012

Summer time is still in FULL effect here!  It's hot and sticky and almost too much to even go outside to the pool!  PHEW!

This weeks challenge given to us by challenge coordinator, Michelle Van Patten was to

So i chose the Suzie digi because swimming is just about the only relief you can get from this weather here!

Here is my card!

I seriously feel like i'm in a layout rut!  I better break out of that because PMS has 5 new fun and fancy word art digs being released TOMORROW!  Yep, we are having a blog hop and the release will go live in the morning at 7am!  WOOT WOOT!  I'm actually the creator of all the word art this go round, and working with a new font creator (He's the MAN, love this guy!) i've been playing with some new styles for PMS.  I love them!  I'm so excited to share them with you tomorrow!
But for now... just these challenge.  teehee!  Be sure to check back in though!

And be sure to check out the Company Blog for more wonderful inspiration for this week's challenge!

PMS digi makeover challenge #47

>> Monday, July 30, 2012

WOOOPS!  I fell asleep early last night snuggling in bed with my 6 year old and I just woke up realizing, i never make my post last night!  So sorry this is a bit late for those that like to check early in the am.  I'm sure that honestly, no one really cares that my post is late.  haha!

Today's challenge for the digimakeover is "Endless Summer"!  Which is just PERFECT since last tuesday we released a special digi set in honor of own of our design team member's Jen Scull that is all about SUNSHINE!  It truly is coincidental!  The digi set will have ALL proceeds go directly to Jen and her family.  You can read all about Jen's Sunshine on the company blog or by clicking THIS LINK.

And now here is my card for an Endless Summer!

And now i have to jet to a doctor's appointment so i will leave it as i colored with copies and used October Afternoon paper!

Have a wonderful day!

PMS Digi Makeover Challenge, Monochromatic

>> Monday, July 9, 2012

Anyone who knows me, or has followed my blog for a bit knows that i absolutely LOVE monochromatic!  So when the challenge leader, Michelle Van Patten, issued the challenge to use monochromatic colors so way on our cards for this weeks challenge, i was THRILLED!
You can see more monochromatic-ness i've done by clicking on the label monochromatic.

And here is my card for today...

I used a new to digi (but one of the first fairy images for rubber) Emma.
And since i was using her in a digi form, I decided to enlarge her a bit, but then cut off her legs so that the image was a little more about her sunny disposition on her face.  Though i really love her little rain boots so it was a bit painful to not include them.  haha!
I also used the sentiment, a cloudy day.

The image was colored with the topic marker cool greys and then the rain and wings were drawn over with a glitter pen.  How could you not smile if you lived in a world where it rain glitter! (please refrain now from breaking into the Ke$ha song in your head like i just did... and if you did, i apologize!)

Now be sure to go on over and check out the company blog to see samples from the challenge team!

Digi Makeover Catch Up!

>> Monday, July 2, 2012

Its Monday, so it's time for another Digi Makeover Challenge, but wait... i never got my card from LAST week posted!  HAHA!  I was having some internet issues, so I did get my card sent via phone to Michelle who posted it on the company blog, but I just realized it never was posted over here!
Last week was so crazy, I was on 2 production jobs, so between those, home life and other work related this and thats, well, i guess i just never realized it wasnt posted.  Better late than never, right?

So here is my card from last week!  I used Wally monster.  I just love that guy!
The papers are from one of our old card kits, Will to DayDream.  (manufacturer, American Crafts)

And now into this week's challenge... to make an Easel card!

Here is my card duo...
The great this about easel cards is that there are a lot of things you can do with them!
In this case, I created cards but put my boys teachers names on the base.
The names were printed with my favorite font (you might notice it's the same one I use for Paper Makeup Stamps!) and the digi is While We Teach.

The inside has a sweet thank you note from the everyday thanks set (actually hand stamped in this case as it was a last minute though and I had already glued down my paper!)

Be sure to check out the company blog for more great samples!

PMS Digi Makeover Challenge

>> Monday, June 18, 2012

It's another Monday and another day for a PMS digi makeover challenge!
I was so thrilled to see so many participants in last week's challenge!  Remember you do not have to use a PMS digi to play, any digi will do.  But of course i love seeing those PMS digis!  hehehehe.  Shameless plug.  :D

This week, our digi team coordinator, Michelle, challenged us to a Things with Wings challenge.  Wll good gravy there are a lot of PMS stamps with wings so it was hard to even choose an image to play with!

In the end I decided on Nell Fairy.  And again, this was previously not a digi on the site and just a rubber stamp so I decided to add it to the shop along with Carma and Wayne from the same release.  :D  You can see the latest digi adds HERE.

Here is my card...

My sentiment is from the Raindrops and Rainbows set but this sentiment is also available solo here.

Papers are all from Daisy Bucket (an older collection, i'm in a desperate attempt to use UP paper that i've hoarded rather than buy new!) And the image was colored with copic makers (R00, R30, R32, R35, R37, R39, E00, E21, E23, E25, E27, B000, B00, B02, B04, YG11, YG13, YG17)

Be sure to check out the Company Blog to see if you won last week's challenge (if you played!) and to see she awesome samples from the team members this week AND to enter to win this week's challenge!

Thanks for dropping by!

Digi Makeover Challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps!

>> Monday, June 11, 2012

I'm back from my hiatus!  Sorry i've missed the past couple of weeks in the digi makeover challenge.  Just so much going on around here!  And then last week my good friend Ginger came down with the flu.  She and her husband both!  So I took her boys (ages 18 months and 4 months) and kept them for sunday and monday and kinda forgot that i made my craft room into their bedroom while they were here!  Whoops!

Anyhoo - this week's challenge we are seeing spots!  Spots of any type will do!
And your only other requirement for the challenge is to use a digi stamp.  It doesn't have to be a PMS stamp, but you know we love to see 'em if you've got 'em!

Here is my card...

I used the Freckled Lemonade digi set (newly added to the site as a digi, though there are still some rubber sets available!)

The paper used it all from Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday and I used copic markers to color the image and the corduroy button is a past in color button from Stampin Up in pacific point.  It's not NEARLY as blue in person as it is on the card.  Ah, don't you know what photography can do!  hahahaha.  Ah well, it matches in person.

Be sure to check out the Paper Makeup Stamps company blog for more inspiration from the digi team!

It's time for another PMS digi makeover challenge!

This week, Michelle wanted us to be inspired by the photo below...

The first thing i saw in this photo was the blue bird in the top left corner of the quilt.  I new instantly that I wanted to use the Tweet Things set.  Which, up to this point hadn't been released in digital form yet.
Well, i'm not the owner for nothin'!  So I added it!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!
You can find this new to digi set, here!

Here is my card!

I colored my hummingbird with copies B21, B24, B26 and B26.  I cut the bird and sentiment (also front the set) out with spellbinders dies.

There are a few left of this set in rubber if you want to get it with the closeout price!

Be sure to check out the Company Blog for more awesome samples from the digi artists!

I'm back!

>> Monday, March 26, 2012

Well, weddings are in full swing in these parts of the country and not that i've been an avid poster as of late anyway, but I'm sorry i had to miss last weeks digi makeover challenge post. Things just got crazier than I had anticipated! Since my business tripled last year (NOT complaining!) i'm still trying to figure out how to balance home life with work life with crafting (my time!) life! It's hard!

Anyhoo - you don't want to hear about all that SOOOO, here is my card for this weeks Digi Makeoever Challenge!

This week the digi challenge team was challenged to created a card for a boy. Easy enough! My life is surrounded by boy things! Its part of what made me want to start a stamp company to begin with! I needed more girlie things to play with, AND I never could find the boy stamps to play with when i needed them! SO I knew if i started my own company, i could have my fairies and girlies ideas come to life, but i definitely needed a world of monsters!
My card today uses Eyepod... one of my all time favorite monsters. He's so fun!
I simply typed my sentiment and printed it out. :D

Be sure to check out the PMS company blog for more inspiration for this challenge!

Spring into a PMS blog hop!

>> Wednesday, March 7, 2012

It's the 7th! So it's time for another Paper Makeup Stamps blog hop!
You should have hopped on over here from the company blog, but if you are a subscriber, you might want to go and check it out. We have 2 awesome ways to win with this hop!
1 is to leave comments on the blogs in the hop and the other is to join in!
So go to the company blog to read the details and get started!

And now here is my Spring Inspired card for you...

This is Caliope with a flower. I heart this stamp. Just looking at it makes me smile.
I've paired it with one of my favorite sentiments that PMS has. It reads "you make this world a better place". I honestly can't think of a better compliment than that and would be most honored if anyone sent me a card that said it!

I colored the image with copic markers (Caliope is R81, 83, 85 and 89 for those who may be wondering!)

Now it's time to hop along your spring filled journey to Britt's amazing blog! I must say that britt FLOORS me with her cards week after week for the digi makeover challenge! So i cant wait to see what she has in store for us today!!!

PMS blog hop

>> Tuesday, February 7, 2012

The 7th of the month means another blog hop from Paper Makeup Stamps!
This month we have been inspired by things we love!

I picked 2 images very near and dear to my heart...

Coming to the decision to stop rubber production for Paper Makeup Stamps was an incredibly hard decision to come to. In the end, it boiled down to not having enough time for my family.
With my makeup artistry really gaining speed, the extra time I have needed to be spent with my favorites boys, jack who will be 6 this month, Gabe who is 3 and of course, my husband.
We do have masses of rubber around our home however so we definitely are wanting to move those out and regain some of that space! This means we are moving to our final markdown price of 75% off all remaining inventory! Get it while you can! Use the code CLOSEOUT75 in your check out cart.

On my card, I used "A Couple of Moodies" and the sentiment Together is my favorite place to be.
I used the rubber versions of these fun stamps and colored the image with copic markers.

And now it's time to move on in the hop for more awesome inspiration!
Please check out one of my favorite friends, Tangii Crain's blog!

It's another blog hop from Paper Makeup Stamps! You should have hopped here from Lisa McKinney. If you didnt, then go to the beginning! You dont want to miss out on the creations!

Today we have an all new release coming your way! Yes they are all being released in Digi, and not rubber this go round as we make the transition from rubber to digi. But you rubber fans, dont you forget we have a massive inventory closeout happening on the site! Use the code CLOSEOUT60 and you get 60% off of the already super low PMS prices!!!!! Get them while you can!

Ok, now that my selling spiel is over, onto my card!

I love valentines day. It's just a fun excuse to be as girly and gushy as you want! I'm so thankful i got thru this card before my lovely 3 year old trashed the rest of this paper I had been hoarding since LAST YEAR. *sigh* us moms never get to keep anything nice for ourselves, do we.

My card...
I used Color Kid with a Valentine for my card along with one of our new wordarts

I heart her! She's so cute! The color kids are all illustrated by Diem Pascarella and she is just fab.

And I decided to lop the wordart in half. I actually did it after the fact and printed it out as a whole... but it would have been superbly easy to do BEFORE printing. :D

here's the inside of my card...

And now it's time for you to continue your journey! You next and last stop in the hop is Randee Elsing

PMS Winter Blog Hop

>> Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Since today is the 7th, Paper Makeup Stamps has another blog hop for you!!!
The blog hop today is just celebrating all of the winter-ie stamps PMS carries from the rubber (which we still have on our close out of rubber sale at 45% off) to the digis. More and more winter digis are being added to the site every day!

My card for you today uses one from our last rubber release, Hayden.

Hayden was colored in using copic markers (R29, R27, R24, R22, R20 for the clothing, E27, E25, E23, E21 for hair and boots, E00, E21, and E000 for her skin.

I used some liquid applique and a heat gun to puff up her ear muffs and trim on her jacket.
One last photo for you today...
The sentiment on my card is from a We R Memory Keepers rub on set. The rub ons are actually glue based and then you can lay other sheets on top for either a glitterie, foil or flock effect. I chose glitter for this one to match the glitter effect on the paper chosen.

Here are the links to all of our design team members in the hop today!

Have a wonderful day!

Pms Digi Challenge: Cut it Out!

>> Monday, December 5, 2011

Another Monday means it's time for another digi challenge from the PMS digi team!
For those who may have missed it... I've had to make a very hard decision to close out the rubber portion of the website. But get the rubber while you still can! Some stamps and sets have already sold out and I will not be ordering any more but there are still many left in stock!
These make great gifts for your crafty friends! Use the coupon code CLOSEOUT45 at check out!

And now onto this week's challenge!

Easy enough right?! Still print out your digi, color it if necessary, and then cut it out!
OR you could use an electronic cutter to cut out your digi. Not what i did here... but a fun thought! I thought of it just now as i was typing up this post! HAHAHAHAH!

Here's my card using the apples to apples set (which i have just 12 left in stock of rubber!)

For a little something extra, i decided to pop up my cut outs. :D

Thats all for today!! Have a wonderful week!!!!

PMS Digi Challenge, Sketch Challenge

>> Monday, November 28, 2011

Well, I meant to post something here on my personal blog over the weekend but with the holiday and my anniversary... i never got around to it.

This is a double ended post today... so hang in there to see my Challenge card for the PMS Digi Makeover challenge.

As most of my blog readers know... Paper Makeup Stamps has been my baby for almost 3 years now. I started the company after my move from Los Angeles to the east coast. I started a family here and thought makeup artistry was my first business, paper crafting has always been my hobby. And thru the love of my hobby and finding a little bit more time at home now that I was a mommy... paper makeup stamps was born.

As my children have grown (not much mind you, they are 5 and 3) their needs have been more important. Its no longer just about spending some time at home with them. it's basketball practice and games. Choir and church events. Kindergarten and preschool productions.
And as their needs increase... so has my makeup artistry business. This past year has truly been a whirlwind for how much business I have picked up. Maybe word of mouth for being in the area? It's truly a blessing! But I've had to come to make some very hard decisions. With the increase of my first business, meant the decline of the time I have at home. Coupled with a 2nd business... something had to give. With this decision, I have decided to close out all rubber from Paper Makeup Stamps. I don't want to just let the company vanish as I truly love each and every one of the designs for paper makeup stamps and I have had the honor of working with fantastic illustrators. So I will continue on with digi sales of the stamps for as long as I can.
The rubber however, will be clearanced out. All stock that is on hand has been clearances to 45% off with the coupon code CLOSEOUT45. This is limited to stock on hand and no more rubber will be ordered. You can read more about the closeout on this post.

And now for my challenge card using some PMS digis!

I used Leif and colored him with topic markers.
I turned the sketch on it's side to accodmate the fact that leif is a bit wider than long. It's not quite cold here yet and the trees are beautiful shades of orange. Even though christmas spirit is in the air... i couldn't resist making at least 1 more fall card before the winter season is fully here!

Be sure to check out the PMS company blog to see the other designers fantastic takes on this sketch challenge!

PMS release in review

>> Thursday, November 10, 2011

Hello everyone!!! The new release from Paper Makeup Stamps is now live on the site!!! Exciiiiiiiting!!!!!! You can get yours HERE.

Here is one more sample from me... I made this card for the Release Party. Dawn challenged us to make a thank you card, so i used the Color Kid Gift Wrapper along with one of the sentiments from the Everyday Thanks set.

Photobucket

And I must say... my new camera phone did a pretty good job of taking a picture! I didnt want to leave the release party chat room to go find my camera and take the time of the set up, so i snapped it quickly with my camera phone! Not to shabby Apple! Not to shabby indeed!

I colored the image with copics and distressed the edges a bit with antique linen distress ink from ranger. I also use Spellbinders Dies and an ek success border punch. paper is from October Afternoon.

Be sure to check out the PMS company blog today for more samples from the design team!
