PMS release in review

>> Thursday, November 10, 2011

Hello everyone!!! The new release from Paper Makeup Stamps is now live on the site!!! Exciiiiiiiting!!!!!! You can get yours HERE.

Here is one more sample from me... I made this card for the Release Party. Dawn challenged us to make a thank you card, so i used the Color Kid Gift Wrapper along with one of the sentiments from the Everyday Thanks set.

Photobucket

And I must say... my new camera phone did a pretty good job of taking a picture! I didnt want to leave the release party chat room to go find my camera and take the time of the set up, so i snapped it quickly with my camera phone! Not to shabby Apple! Not to shabby indeed!

I colored the image with copics and distressed the edges a bit with antique linen distress ink from ranger. I also use Spellbinders Dies and an ek success border punch. paper is from October Afternoon.

Be sure to check out the PMS company blog today for more samples from the design team!

My Time Made Easy: Turtle Treat Tote

>> Friday, September 2, 2011

Well... I'm pretty sure i've nailed into your brains what all is happening with the My Time Made Easy release over the past few days! So i wont mention it all yet again (if you missed it... scroll down and check out some of my projects too!)

For my project today I used the Tricky Treat Tote, though I assure you, this fabulous tote could be the tote holder for all kinds of gifts! I did decide to stick to some pretty yummy treats though this time around!

Ok, enough of a teaser pic. Here's the front of this fun tote!

See?! It could be used for so much! And that turtle! Is he not cah-ute! In fact, i love ALL the animals from the Wonderful Woodland Creatures stamp set! I mean they are all just ADORABLE! I would have used them all if I could think of a candy to go with each! haha!
But turtles will have to do! My sentiment is just one that I typed up on my computer to match my project. :D

Here is a closer image of the turtle just so you can see how stinkin' adorable he is!
GAH! He just makes me happy!

Ok, thats what i have for ya today! Now i'm off for my marathon of weddings! A 2 parter starting today with a ceremony tonight and tomorrow and then again in the day so I stay for a "flip" which means to change hair and makeup. Then a double header wedding on sunday as well! I will have a post up in there, but i'm not promising to be very chatty!
Wish me luck!!!!

Be sure to check out Lauren and Lisa today for some more fabulous gifties!

Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop: Oldies but Goodies!

>> Sunday, August 7, 2011

Well there is no new release from PMS this month (remember the releases are every other month) but as always, it's the 7th so we still have a fun hop for you!

You should have hopped here from Jenn's blog. If you are just starting at my blog, go back to the beginning. We have lots of fun things going on and you wont want to miss anyone's creations!

Here is my card...
Even though this is one of my favorite monsters from PMS, it occured to me when I was choosing which Oldie but Goodie stamp that i'd never used him! I got excited and inked him up! Only to remember we were supposed to ""sign up" for which one we wanted to use so there would be no repeats. Um... Well if you are doing the hop you've already seen Jami's amazing card. WOOPS. I forgot my own rules. Guess it's a good thing i won't fire myself!

I love this guy though! And if YOU are a big fan of the monsters and have missed them terribly... i have good news for you! We DO have some new monsters in the works so definitely stay tuned for our upcoming release!!!

THis card also qualifies for our CHALLENGE issued to you today by our new challenge master, Dawn Mercedes. She wants us to use some fun summery sun colors. Thinks reds, oranges, yellows, etc. Ok, so it's not overly orange but it is orange and I did it with the challenge in mind!

Here's a close up of good ol' sourpuss...
I seriously love this guy. Kinda how i feel on rainy days. I'm not a big fan of rain.

My copic colors used on this are YR14, YR21, and YR20.
For my greys i used C0 C1, C3, and C5

I used nestabilities by spellbinders (labels 11) and airbrushed inside the nestie for some added color.

And now... it's time for you to hop along to the wonderful Lisa Kind!

PMS release in Review

>> Monday, July 11, 2011

In case you missed the memo... Paper Makeup Stamps recently had a new release!
You can check them out here!

Today is a release in review day where the Paper Makeup Artists use stamps from the new release (and sometimes mix them with old ones, like my card today) to give just a bit more inspiration for the release. :D

Well this past week I taught another copic class at Scrapnesia in Spartanburg SC.
We focused on R32, R35, R37 and R39.
I chose to color one of my favorite fairies, Isabella, just because i heart her and I think she's pretty in a pinkish red dress! hahaha!

Also on my card, I used the new Framed set as well as one of the new wordarts, "We are all angels with only one wing".

A new more details on the image...
Skin was colored with E00, and E21
Wings R30
Hair: Y21, YR23, E99

Be sure to check out the rest of the Paper Makeup Artists on the PMS blog and scroll down because there was another release in review day yesterday (i was just too busy packing orders to participate in that one!)

PMS: Let the Sneak Peeks Begin!

Today we are showing the Build a Sentiment Additions set!
Here's my card...

I thought it might be nice to have a card on hand for when my kiddo does something really great! This summer he's growing up so much! Learning to swim, ride a bike with no training wheels (not there yet, and he has the scrape on his knee to prove it!) and so much more. Next year he starts kindergarten. I'm honestly not sure if i'm excited or sad about that one!

My card uses Cosmo Cricket paper (bandwidth collection) and uses liquid pearls in buttercup all along the outer edges.

Here's a close up of the sentiment...

I layered "Way to Go" and "Son" over one of the star swirls in the Dream Big set and cut them out with the nestabilities ovals and scalloped ovals.

Be sure to check out these team members and their creations using this set today!

Today some of the Paper Makeup Stamps Design Team are joining with the Quixotic Paperie Design Team to throw the spotlight on the Paper Makeup Stamps range as part of Quixotic Paperie's 2nd Anniversary celebrations (Quixotic Paperie are the UK online stockist for Paper Makeup Stamps)!

The Paper Makeup Stamps range is available in the UK/Europe at Quixotic Paperie.
If you're in the US then you can of course find the stamps at Paper Makeup Stamps direct!
As part of the celebrations and the spotlight today, we have a PRIZE GIVEAWAY!
Pop on over to the Quixotic Inspirations blog to get all the details and enter the draw to win some fantastic Paper Makeup Stamps and more!

Here I used Moody for Kitties along with a sentiment from the Nothing Left to Say set.
I used Copics to color the image (B41, B45, B16, R30, R32, R35, E21, E23, E25, YR04, YR16, E00)
Spellbinders circles and the copic airbrush to complete the card. Paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Snorkle collection.

TO get my mojo flowing for this card, I decided to pop by one of my very favorite challenges (that i havent played on for a bit, sorry girls!) and thats the Just Us Girls Challenge! In hindsight, i should have colored her hair more yellowed than orange to match the so saffron color of the challenge. I think in my head there was orange that i was trying to add in. haha!

Now for some more inspiration! Hop on over to each of the blogs below to see some fantastic Paper Makeup Stamps creations!
Thanks for joining us and we hope you are enjoying all the Paper Makeup Stamps loveliness.

PMS Summer Blog Hop!

>> Tuesday, June 7, 2011

The PMS Paper Makeup Artists have all joined together for a fun in the sun blog hop!
You should have hopped here from Tina Hale's magical blog... if you are just starting at my bog, you ned to go from the beginning because there is prizes to be won and you need to know how! Like a $40 mystery prize pack!!!

While my June has already provided to be as crazy as my May (thank goodness it slows down after next week!) I do have a fun summery card that I never got to share, so I thought that this would be the PERFECT time!

This is the card I created for my mom for mother's day. Now I know to many, Mother's Day is a bit more of a spring holiday than a summery one, but here in the south, anything in May is pretty much summer! Our temps have been in the upper 90's for a good part of the month. It's kinda crazy!

I used some bright paper by Crate Paper (the Carnival collection) to pair with the über cute slugs from the PMS monster collection. I love these slugs! So darn fun and cute and very fun to color! I also used a spellbinders die to cut out the image, and then the copic airbrush system to really help the image stand out!

And because I know everyone likes to see close ups to really see what stamps look like... here ya go!

Now it's time for you to hop along to the next on your list... the amazing Dawn Mercedes!!!

Here's a list in case you've gotten lost on your way....

Katie (that's me)

Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop Starts Now

>> Monday, March 7, 2011

It's another Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop!!!!!

If you are already along your way in the hop, you should have arrived from Christi Snow's WONDERFUL blog! If not, then you need to start back at the beginning for some awesome news about the Fan Favorite contest, and learn how to win yourself some stamps or at least get a discount off your next purchase!

Today the new release will be LIVE on the site, at 9pm EST with a party starting in our forum at the same time!

After a very long and eventful week (thank you for all my well wishes and kudos for keeping my had above water thru it all), i didnt get my card done for yesterdays post. See, I'm not as on top of it as you think!!!! But i couldnt resist the card I had planned to make, so today I have 2 cards to share with you!!!!

First, is Sally Sheep!
I stamped Sally Sheep, the newest addition to the Cutie Critter's stamp line on kraft cardstock and then colored her with copic markers. Then for her white wool, i used a white colored pencil. After cutting the image out with a spellbinders nestie, i airbrushed inside with R81 copic marker. My sentiment comes from the When There's Nothing Left to Say set. I simply left off the "you" and handwrote in "ewe". :D

Next up... is the adorable Aurora!

I've actually had this image for some time but had to wait for the right time to release her.
Isnt she precious? She's actually about how i feel right now! Haha.
After coloring her I again airbrushed inside the nestie. Maybe after all my makeup jobs this week, nothing feels right if there isnt a little airbrushing! HAHAHAHAH!

And now before I forget... my letter for you is the letter S and the next hop in your journey is the ALWAYS talented, Jami Bova!

It's been a bit since i shared "the deets" in this format, and I think i'll get back to it!

My Time Made Easy Group Post, So Fortunate

>> Saturday, January 1, 2011

Holy Cow! It's 2011?! That still sounds like sci fi novel to me. SOOOOO weird!

Well, it seems i took the month of December off almost! Haha! Lots and Lots going on, family in town, working on websites and rejuicing the mojo! Now hopefully i can be back with a vengeance in 2011!

To kick off the New Year, I get to start with a My Time Made Easy post! I can hardly believe that Lauren started out on this venture 1 year ago! My, how time flies!!! I feel SO FORTUNATE to be on this team of talented ladies!

My Time Made Easy is releasing an awesome new template and stamp set that i just adore! Not to mention a fun cut file (that i'm not using today) and some beautiful printable paper (some that i AM using today!)

The template and stamp set being released is titled, So Fortunate (did you catch it above?).
The template creates an über cute chinese takeout box! I opted to NOT score the top flaps to give it a little bit of asian lantern feel. I'm not sure the lantern thing worked out, but i still like the look of it!

Here's a closer look at the template...
I cut the sides of the box using my SCAL (you do not need to have a software cutting program for the MTME templates, you can always download a pdf version for your printer!). The template comes with decorative layer pieces so it was super easy. I used the "shadow" on the SCAL to create the mat layers.

Using the So Fortunate stamp set, i create my decorative paper. I used the individual cherry blossom leaves. There is also a cherry blossom branch that is just awesome and a super sweet asian girl image. I just can't WAIT to use them! Ok, i got off track. haha. I also used the kanji symbols on the sides of the box (a different symbol is on each side)

To color in the cherry blossoms, i knew i wanted them to pop against the pink background.
I used copic markers R85 and R81 to shade the flower and then used a white colored pencil to lighten the ends of each petal.

And now onto my card...
My card is admittedly suuuuuper simple but there was 1 major thing i wanted to address.
The paper used on my card is one of the new papers released this month (and in both a landscape and vertical format. The design is laid out so perfectly with even the kanji images sort of watermarked in. I wasnt sure where i wanted to cut into it for my card and then i had an idea... what if i printed the paper in the size of my card front?! I opened the paper image in photoshop (but any photo editting program would do) and sized it to fit the front of a card, keeping the entire design the same. Then printed, cut that out and put it on my card! A beautiful card front! I didnt need to do anything else really! Now i suppose you could but i did want you to see how well this paper makes a cardfront, so i opted to be simple with using the same satin ribbon as on my template and then one of the kanji symbols again with pale pink cherry blossom flower heads stamped behind the sentiment. (sentiment was cut with the labels 9 spellbinders die).

And that is my project for today! Be sure to check back in tomorrow for another take on this template. :D

Check out the rest of the MTME design team and their awesome projects for today!

Have a great day!

Paper Makeup Stamps Blog Hop!

>> Sunday, November 7, 2010

It's the 7th which means it is time for another PMS blog hop!
In our blog hop we are showing off all the new Holiday stamps from PMS! You should have hopped here from Christi's blog... but if you didnt,
you'll want to start at the beginning though to get all the details for the happenings of the day, plus enter yourself to win 1 of 3 gift certificates. Not to mention, you dont want to miss all the eye candy that the other Paper Makeup Artists have in store for you!

The image for my card today is definitely one of my favorites of the release.

This is Moody for Holly. I adored coloring her! In fact, she was the first stamp i inked up from this release! I was just aching to color in those pigtails!

I colored the image using Copic Markers (bet ya didnt see that coming).
Her hair is my absolutely favorite blonde color combo; Y21, YR23, E99
Skin is E00, E21, R20 and her eyes are B12, B16
Shirt and berries are R59, R27, R24 and holly leaves are G21, G24, G28

The sentiment is this month's freebie sentiment with any order while supplies last.
I cut it out using the Nestabilities Fancy Tags by Spellbinders and airbrushed inside the nestie.
Paper used is basic Grey, Wassail.

Now i bet you want your letter! This letter helps to give you the phrase to get 15% off the new release! My letter for you is... E!!!! Since i'm the last stop, you may have figured it out, but i'm so glad you stopped by anyway!!!

I hope to see you tonight at our Release Party!!!! 9pm EST! Be there or be square!!!!!
