PMS Kitty Challenge with a sneak!

>> Monday, July 6, 2009

So it's Monday which means a new paper makeup stamps challenge!  THis week Meli inspired us to use anything from this picture....

We could use any part of this image as our inspiration. Since PMS doesnt any kitty images, i went with the flowers and colors. Then i realized, Well PMS doesnt have much by the way of flowers either! That needs to be fixed. haha. I guess it's still a new company so the other stamps will come in time. :)

But i still used floral paper! :) And a new sentiment that will be released soon! :) It will even be available as a digi on July 7th! WOOHOO!

I made this little basket using Lauren Meaders Pack a Picnic template from PTI's Timeless Templates. This is my favorite template to date! IT was so easy! And it comes in 2 sizes so you can either make baskets that coordinate, or just choose which size basket it the most appropriate for your project! I chose the small basket because i was making it to hold lots of paper flowers to give to a friend who makes cards and sells them on Etsy so she would need lotsa flowers!

Here's my basket...

I was really happy with how it came out and how easy it was to put it all together. But since i was giving it as a birthday present, now i needed a card! I've also been dying to play with my new copic airbrush more, so i created this card and airbrushed the flower to match my paper!

Here are

Stamps:
If Friends were flowers digi sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps to be released July 7th
Birthday Wishes sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps

Copic Airbrush Colors
R81, YR00, YR12

Paper:
Patterned Paper is Magnolia from the Just Dreamy collection
Cardstock is Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up

Tools and Accessories
Pack A Picnic Timeless Template by Lauren Meader for PaperTrey Ink

Paper Gerbera Daisy by Bazzill in Vanilla
Pearls by KaiserCraft in Champagne
Ribbon is Twill ribbon from Papertrey Ink in Summer Sunrise
Button is from Creative Cafe
Brads are from neautrals pack from Paper Studio

Don't forget to check out the other design team's fabulous creations on the PMS blog
and to link up your creation to Mr. Linky!  Check back tomorrow for the final PMS sneak peek and the release party tomorrow night going live at 9pm EST!

See, i told ya i'd get inky!

>> Sunday, May 31, 2009

I told ya i'd get inky today and i did!  I woke up this morning and thought to myself "self, you have an hour before you have to get ready for church... GO!" So i made myself some coffee (and made note that i need to get some more K Cups!) and went to work on the There She Goes color challenge of using black, white and another color of choice.  I chose Distress Ink tattered rose as my other color because it's my newest ink pad that i hadnt even taken the plastic off of yet.  You know... everytime i use distress ink i'm reminded how much i love it and then question myself as to why i dont own all the colors.  I really should fix that problem the next time they are on sale at Hobby Lobby!

Ok, onto the card... I used TSG's Thinking of You set.

This sweet little gem is only 5 bucks!  And let me tell you, this is some good clear rubber!  You never know when you're trying out a new company but it's as good as my other favie clear companies (verve, papertrey, ctmh, you get the idea) so it's good stuff.

First i started with one of the flower batches and stamped it in versamark ink on some good quality white cardstock. I then stamped it 2 more times on either side of the first to make the row longer. It was from the scrap bin, so i'm not positive to what it was, but it was one of the good ones, neenah, papertrey, maybe ctmh or SU... not sure) And then i used clear embossing powder over it and heat set it. Then i did the emboss resist technique which i've actually done a tutorial on eons ago but it's kind of an age old stamping technique and i think most gals know it. If not, just email me and i'll explain it all to ya!

Then i stamped the thinking of you sentiment on another square also in the same tattered rose ink, and then again on top of that in black. I've really been digging the "ghost" effect i've seen on a few cards and i figured today was as good a day as any to try it out. There's a close up of the sentiment up top because i'm not sure you can see the ghost image in the full view photo.

I did want a little something extra on the bottom panel and i thought a bird sillouette would be perfect! There She Goes even has a set of all bird sillouettes that has a strip of flowers and grass that would have been perfect for this card. You can see it here and it's called Here for You. Alas... i dont own this set. hahahahaha. But then i did remember i have a bird sillouette set by PaperTrey Ink called Birds of a Feather and while most of the bird images are larger... PTI often (if not always) includes a coordinating stamp in the set that is a hand stamped for you by stamp and it often has an image with it. So i used a dew drop ink to only ink up the little bird and stamped that onto my flower panel. PERFECT! :) I love it when as my friend Tangii says, the planets align and cards just turn out like you want!"

So thats my card for today! :) And i feel better about myself for actually getting inky today! hahaha. The house is still a wreck. My craft room needs some major help before i have company next week and i'm still aching to do just a few more of the Stampin Out Alzheimer's challenges before the day is up! Oh, and the hubster wants to go look at cars because we might trade mine in which makes me want to absolutely cry as i LOVE my car, but it would save us money and we do need another seat, so..... we're LOOKING. LOOOOOOOOKING! :)

Ok, thats all my babble for today! :) Chat with everyone sooner than later!

Casein' away on a Wednesday

>> Wednesday, April 29, 2009

I actually cased THIS CARD a bit back (ok, like 2 weeks ago) when I wanted to do a simple card with a big impact for the cards crop/class at chic fil a. I browsed thru my "favorites" gallery on splitcoast and found one i had favorited eon's ago by Debbie who is now one of my favorite blogs to browse. ironic huh? Of course i didnt know it at the time. Or maybe it was this card that turned me onto her blog in the first place. Who knows... like i said it was forever ago. :)

Well, unfortunately for me, i dont have the nestabilties plain square to emboss with. but i'm thinking i need it. So instead i layered my colored squares onto slightly larger white squares to help them pop out against the background.
I also changed the color layout just a bit. For the class i have about 16 different colored squares for them to choose from. Go figure, there were only 2 people there and now i have a bajillion little colored squares. But you know... these would make fast and fabulous thank yous! hmm... the wheels are turning. :)

Anyhoo - the flower stamp is from a CTMH mini set called Beauty. The cardstock colors are from the current In Colors by Stampin Up. And the sentiment is from Mixed Messages from Papertrey Ink.

Happy Birthday Molly!

>> Friday, April 17, 2009

Today is my good friend Molly's Birthday!!! I didnt post this project this until later because i wanted to be sure i had given it to her before i posted!

I knew her favorite quote was this quote..
"The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart. - Helen Keller"

I also knew i had this in a stamp set by Paper Trey Ink (stamp set is Out on a Limb Sentiments). So my brain starting turning. What do use this on...hmmm... hmmmmmmmm. Then i remembered a Project that Shannan Tuebner had done awhile back using a wood plaque. Ok.. truth be told... i was digging thru my trunk of alterables (yes, i have an entire trunk dedicated to stuff that one day i'll get around to altering) and i found a bunch of wooden plaques which i bought after reading this post of shannan's and always planned to do something with.

SO - i finally had something to do! I still have a few of the wooden plaques left... i may be making more soon! It was so easy and super fun. :)

Ok, here is my project...

It's not the bestest of pictures because i kinda forgot to take a picture until we got to her house! Luckily i had my camera in my back pocket so i just took a quickie in the car (hence the yellow tissue paper around it!)

I simply painted the wood plaque with acrylic paint and let it dry. I then swiped all the edges with antiquing medium. The top i stamped the branch and leaves (from Papertrey's Out on a Limb. I adore this set because the branch is a separate stamp from all the flowers. AND there are different stamps to put on the branch (some pretty flowers, leaves of different types, berries, etc). And since they are a different stamp, using different ink colors is no problemo! I stamped the sentiment from the Out on a Limb Sentiments set above the branch. I then sprayed the entire thing with a matte acrylic sealer mainly because i wanted her to have the option of using it for a coaster if she so choosed. This is also why i didnt add anything 3d to the front. I wanted the surface to remain flat but i did think of putting pearls inside of each flower petal and if she does decide to put it up on a wall, i will probably sneak the pearls on there. hahaha.

This weekend is a busy one for me! My mom gets into town late tonight! Tomorrow i have a wedding to do and then Sunday i am getting Copic Certified! WOOHOO! Super excited about that! I do have a post set and ready for tomorrow and then i'm sure my mom and i will craft some saturday night so i wont be a stranger! :)

Teacher Gifts

>> Thursday, December 18, 2008

I was so pumped up to make teacher gifts for christmas! Afterall, this would be the first time for me to get to do that. But the mom's in jack's preschool class decided to all pitch in 10 bucks and get 2 giftcards. So i offered to make the gift card holders! hehe. I still get my crafting for them done. Of course as i was trying to cram it in there today since their christmas party is tomorrow i ask myself, and WHY did i have to make sure i crafted them something again? haha.

So since i was in a lack of mojo i went with a tutorial! Gotta love tutorials! This one is from splitcoast and you can find it here

And here is the front of my gift card holder...

I used PaperTrey Ink's Teacher's Apple set for all parts of this project. My paper is Real Red, Kraft, a green from Hobby Lobby and then the inside has So Saffron. You cant tell from this view, but i stamped the apple image twice and cut the second out to pop up on the card. The reason the word "teacher" looks grainy in this image is because it is heat embossed and shiny so it's catching the light.

The way this opens is a little tricky and goofy me actually stamped the background and then scored it so that the stamped background would be upside down! but rather than start over, i just let mine "open" from the other side, no biggie.

if you look carefully here you can see where i popped up the apple image since this is a side view. :)

The inside is also stamped like a pattern using various apples. You can actually see the stamped backgroudn design here! The so saffron is actually an envelope i had to make because i didnt have any coin envelopes. It was easy though as i had a tag envelope template from making memories that i had never even used!

I masked the apples to layer them here. Pretty easy peasy. Then you just slip the gift card into the envelope! I'll write a note to each teacher in the larger red space tomorrow before we give the gifts. :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Dont forget that today is Hip Hop Thursday! Come over the unity forum for some fun!

A good day

>> Tuesday, October 14, 2008

So i have had a pretty darn good day today. Last night my hubby surprised me with this...

for no particular reason. Oh, and a diet coke. My husband knows me so well. :)
I got lots of sleep (well, lot's of sleep for anyone with a 4 week old!). I went to bed early and Gabe went back to his normal eating every 3 hours. And then i got to sleep until 8. Woohoo!
So then we had a pretty easy time of getting Jack ready for school. I even got to check my emails and a few blogs. And what did i discover during my morning coffee computer check? I sold my first card on etsy! Woohoo! And then... I WAS FEATURED ON UNITY'S BLOG! I was floored!

My day has gone downhill a bit from there. But all good things must come to an end. haha. After taking Jack to school and taking Gabe to the doctor, we discovered the dr's office made his 4 week appt for next month. No, next month he'll be 8 weeks old... not 4. Grrr. So it was a waste of that trip. I have to go back tomorrow now with BOTH kids. Someone help me! Then i went over to The Scrapbook Company to see what goodies i might be able to snag from the work space. But my good friend Jan who works there was out today. Her mom passed away last night. Puts a lot of things into a new perspective! And i thought my morning was rough??

After school I told Jack that i wanted to make Ms Jan a card because she was very sad today. He replied "Ms Jan is my friend" and i told him "yes, Ms Jan is your friend, do you want to make her a card too?" he said "Yes! It will make her feel all better!" So after a bit of a wild afternoon (man i miss naptime!) We decided it was card making time. Now, please remember he is 2.5! I pulled out my scrap drawer and told Jack he could use whatever he wanted. He pulled out 4 scraps. I had decided to use the cuddlebug on my card, so of course he wanted to too. He LOVES to crank stuff thru the cuddlebug. So i pulled out all my folders and told him to pick one. He picked out the "circles". Then he put his largest scrap into the folder and ran it thru the cuddlebug all by himself (ok, so i set up the sandwich of the plates for him). Then we went back to his teeny tiny craft table. We tried a gluestick... but for the same reason i hate gluesticks... apparently so does Jack. He said "MOMMA! it not STICKING". I laughed and said "yes, glue sticks dont stick well" and he said "i need sumpin to stick" So i got out a tape runner and put tape on the back of each scrap and said "there ya go, now you just need to layer everything" And he did. While he did that i pulled out some flowers and things and told him to pick out what he wanted. He picked out 4 primas. And i put glue dots on the back for him. Now i want to reiterate... that my 2.5 year old did not have help from me!! And considering his age, i think he did pretty darn well! The layout is actually kind of cute if it wasnt so wonky. On the inside he stamped some crosses (that he picked out) and drew her "a mountain" and then signed his name. You cant tell it's a mountain or that it's his name, but that's ok. Here's his card!

And then after i finally convinced him to go bug daddy (evil i know), i got to finish my card! I roughly cased this card that i found on splitcoast the other day.

I used a set called Out On a Limb (along with Out On a Limb Sentiments) from Papertrey Ink. I adore this set because there is just so so so so much you can do with it! It comes with different leaves and flowers and whatnot to add to your limb. And the matching sentiments are so lovely! Lots of great quotes, even though i didnt use a quote this time.

And now i'm headed to a Moms Night Out at the Beaded Frog. Basically, we are going to go make jewelry. We'll see how much i get done since i'm taking the baby with me. But i need the night out with the gals. It'll be fun. BUT i'm supposed to be there in 20 minutes and i havent done my hair or makeup. Thank goodness i'm a pro at my 3 minute makeup routine. :)

Thanks for dropping by!

another just rite submission

>> Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Ok ok ok, i'll stop with the posts today... at some point. haha. You know i could save them for the days i cant post anything. But i was too excited with how this card turned out. :) And it is my second submission for the just rite stampers challenge. There is only 2 days left and i'm trying to make up for lost time!

I was really pleased with how it turned out. I used PaperTrey's Out on a Limb (revised version). Now if you havent heard me rant and rave about papertrey in the past... i LOVE papertrey! I love how they break up the stamps (and they are clear) so you can easily layer them. For example with this card... the branch and the leaves are 2 separate stamps. And there are lots of different leaf sets (some floral, some berries, some leaves, etc) so there is a LOT you can make with it.

To get the effect of "turning leaves" i used my bazzinks and just dotted the various colors of inks i was using (hint go lightest color to darkest to avoid staining your inks). For my moon i "over inked" my stamp. Thats just a me term. When i "over ink" a stamp it just means to get it nice and juiced up. Then when you stamp it out, use a slight rocking motion that makes some of the ink puddle to the other side of the stamp. When your done with the rock, that extra puddle of ink will appear slightly darker creating a nice shadow effect.

Then i added my Just Rite Monogram stamp with the border From the Desk Of. I'm telling you, the Just Rite stamps make it so easy! I cant wait to get more! )

All paper used on this card is by Bazzill except for the off white i stamped my images on which is Colonial White by Close to My Heart.
The inks are Bazzinks to match the bazzill cardstock. But my edges were inked with cat's eye chalk inks (once again... i know i use them alot. :) )

I was so pleased with how this overall card designed i decided to make a quick one for a friend of mine. Her family was recently in a very bad car accident and luckily, they all survived, though they did have to go to the hospital to get checked out. She was not in the car. They were coming home from their vacation at the Lake and she was trailing them a bit behind. She though a semi had overturned so she stopped her car so she'd be able to call for assistance. Imagine her horror when she discovered it was her family and their trailer that had overturned! Perhaps the sad thing at this point, is they had 2 dogs in the accident that got away but are still unfound. Please pray for her family!

So i made the same card only i did not use the monogram stamp. The sentiment that everyday is a blessing was much more appropriate than my From the Desk of image! I modified the card a bit just so it would be a little different.

Thanks again for stopping by! :)

Whew - what a week! I've been wanting to post, but just havent had a whole heck of a lot of time. Sad sad sad. But i did create this card yesterday. I was very excited with the turn out. I had the idea about a week ago and even went out to buy this stamp just to create this witchy card! haha.

The stamp is by My Favorite Stamps and comes with all kinda fun things to create a sweet card. But i decided to color her legs green and created a spooky decor by paper piecing her walls to have a funky black wallpaper (all patterned paper is by reminisce). Her floor is hand drawn.

The sentiment is by the new Spooky Sweets II set by PaperTrey Ink. Overall i was pleased with the outcome of this card. It's always fun to me to use stamps in a manner that they werent intended for!

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave me a comment!

I actually created this card the other day when i was playing with my new jewel tone shimmer chalks by Pebbles Inc. i'm telling you.... i love these chalks! I learned a little trick that you can post to your blog days before (thank you Lauren Meader!) so i have a couple of posts ready for while i'm out of town! I just think this is fabulous! Haha. Ok, and on to the card!

I feel like this isnt a typical card for me. It's a little more subdued than what is my norm. However, i'm in the process of coming up with some card designs to do sets of for a fundraiser craft fair my church is doing in October. Seeing as i wont be able to do much October 1st when this craft fair is said to be, i'm trying to be a little ahead of the game! I'm also doing LOTS of stamping on candles and i'm so pleased with how they've turned out so far. I'll try to remember to take pictures of the ones done so far the next day i'm at the church crafting, but i've left them there so i cant post pictures now.

I started this card with a simple brown base and patterned paper by Anna Griffin. The stamp set is Everyday Blessings by PaperTrey . I love this set. The sentiments are fabulous and there are SO MANY in the set! I stamped the cross on the white cardstock and then stamped it out again on some scratch cardstock. The scratch cardstock i cut out and put a little removable adhesive on the back to use as a mask. (my super helpful tip is if you do this with a set, save your trimmed out image so you dont have to go thru the process the next time). After putting my mask on top of my stamped cross, i used the jewel tone chalks to add a shimmery halo around the cross. I did layer 2 colors for a little added depth, but it was so so easy! Then peel off your mask and viola! The shimmer looks fantastic, but it's very hard to capture the look on camera. So just trust me on this one. I then layered my sentiment on top. In my recreations of this card, i'll probably move the sentiment down as it's a little hard to read where it is now.

The stitching is actually just rubons by Kaiser Craft. I was pleased with how easily they came off the backing, but not pleased at how easily it stuck to my fingers! Just an FYI when you're handling them!

Thanks again for stopping by!!!!

Papertrey ink birds of a feather

>> Thursday, August 7, 2008

Ok, so i'm posting twice for today! Because of my serious lack of posts from last week. :)

I was seriously hurting for some mojo when i made this card. I was feeling pretty nauseous and acid refluxy and i couldnt even concentrate let alone be crafty. But somehow this card emerged and i was actually quite happy with it. I will say i dont think it photographed nearly as nice as it turned out because you cant see all the shimmer and glitz. But since i discovered a new to me technique, i want to show it anyway.

Here is my sympathy card using Papertrey's Birds of a Feather. This set is just stunning to me. I just love the font on all the sentiments included. The sentiment and flowers on this card are also from this set.
I knew i wanted to use this set because i just wanted a very pretty sympathy card to send to someone from church. Remember my no mojo when starting this card. I picked out a bird and just stamped it on a piece of white cardstock. I also stamped out the with sympathy sentiment but ended up not using it.
I pulled out a scrap of one of my favorite patterned papers (maker is Graphic 45) I'm tellin ya, if i had an entire pad of this paper, it still wouldnt be enough. You may remember i used these papers for a set of cards i did awhile back using the same brown card base. I love blue and brown together. I then scalloped the scrap using my new Stampin Up Scallop Border Punch.
I inked the edges using Cat Eye Chalk Ink.
I then cut my birdie bird out using my Creative Memories circle custom cutting system and also did a mat out of another piece of scrap paper.
Then i looked at my card and i was stuck. Just simply stuck! So i decided to just stamp on the dark brown using white daisy pigment ink by Close to My heart (my fav for pigment white ink... and heads up, ctmh has decided to do their vanilla cream and colonial white in the pigment base as well! Oh i am just so so so excited!!!) I was going to just stamp my flower once, but then it just grew and grew. Also to note, this is a 3 step flower so i was able to position each piece just where i wanted it on the card. This is one of my favorite aspects of the PaperTrey stamps!
So now what... i thought as my mojo was still a little slack (though i was feeling a little better as my card started to come together. Thats when i remembered my jewel tone chalks by Pebbles Inc that i just bought! I had no idea how i was going to use them, but i was bound and determined. Now i'm sure many of you reading this are probably saying oh yes i chalk over ink all the time. Well this gal had never even thought of it! Not with a color ink at least. I use chalks ALL THE TIME with versamark. So i wanted to test it out. Now the key to get this technique to work for me was to pounce the chalk not rub. I was loosing the image of my flower when i rubbed. So i alternated my colors and just pounced a bit on top of the white flowerand suddenly before my eyes was this beautiful shimmer among my flowers. Needless to say, stumbling on a new technique definitely kicked up my mojo. I then stamped out my with sympathy sentiment also in white daisy but left it solo so it would pop out. I did then take my atyou spica pen in clear and just added glitz all over the . It's all around the sentiment, within the flowers and outlining my birdie bird. Now let me tell you, my atyou spica pen is one of my favorite "tools" but i've never gotten it to photograph how stunning it really is. So i highly suggest you buy one to see for yourself. You'll be pleased, i guarantee it!!
Some simple 1/8" satin brown ribbon finishes off my card. And there is my mojo-less card which i thought turned out pretty sweet.

Brown & Blue Card Combos

>> Tuesday, July 15, 2008

I was trying to come up with some ideas for a card class at The Scrapbook Company. These arent the exact cards we'll make because i really need to use stamps and such that they carry in the store and i was just working out basic designs. Then i'll go into the store and remake the cards with their stamps. haha. We'll also be making a box that can hold the cards. Once i get the cards for the class made with the right paper and everything, i'll take a pic and post those as well.

The next 2 cards are also ones i'll base the designs of the cards for the class off of, but i cant take too much credit because the card design itself was taken off of some cards on Lauren Meader's blog I was running out of ideas, and she's my go to gal. haha.

PTI - Pond Life

>> Wednesday, July 2, 2008

Well my last post was my long one about the craze that has been my life in the past week. But i guess i never really got past my birthday party which was only friday! Saturday i had a wedding to do. I didnt make near enough. It's hard to figure out my prices for a smaller town. I hate for anyone to feel ripped off and i hate "charging" people for anything, however, i am a professional makeup artist and i should know that my work is valued. I tell myself this over and over again... but i still have trouble.

Ok, thats not the point of this entry at all! After the wedding, my mother-in-law, jack and i drove down to our camper we have permanently set up at Hartwell Lake. I'd love to say i own a second Lakeside home. But it really is just a camper. haha. Anyhoo - after we'd been there about a day, i wondered where my neighbor (who lives there permanently) was. He's ALWAYS around, but there was no site of him. I found out later he had been taken to the ER when they thought he was having a heart attack but it turned out to be a bacterial infection and he was in the ICU. SCARY! So after we got home yesterday i decided i wanted to make him a card. I used Papertrey's Pond Life set to create this card.

My parents get into town tomorrow night (man do i have a lot to do before then!) and then we'll be heading back to the lake on friday for July 4th celebrations. We'll be coming back on saturday however. My parents will be leaving town on monday. I hope to squeeze in a few posts before then... still need to create a card for my dad so that will be later today and then i have some projects for a stamp camp i'm doing with my friend rachel so hopefully i wont get too behind! YIPES!

PTI - Out on a Limb

Well this past week sure has been a crazy one! I cant believe a week has come and gone so fast! Last thursday was my birthday... yippee! I absolutely love birthdays! I celebrated it myself by having friends over for a birthday crop! Lots of fun to be had. My in laws got into town that afternoon and babysat the munchkin so that my hubby and i could go out to eat. Good food - no rowdy child... ahhh, bliss!

Now the next day my hubby had planned a "surprise" birthday party. I put surprise in quotes because i had it figured out long before. But here's a quick background on the subject... my hubby never does ANYTHING for me on my bday. i dont get a card, or a cake, and sometimes not even a present. I get a why dont you go and get your hair done. Which then never happens. GO get a pedicure.... never happens. He says it's my fault that i dont go and do them. Um... i have a toddler, and a hubby that works full time. I know most of you all understand how it goes all too well.

Well this year he was trying really really hard to do something special! He asked a couple of friends to make sure my important people were there. He hired his buddy and little worker bee to come and park cars so i wouldnt know they were there. He filled the downstairs with balloons. However, in true fashion to my darling man... he did a lot of things wrong (which is how i knew about the bash to begin with) and i finally had to tell him that i knew because he told the 2 sets of friends 2 different times to be there and i was scrambling trying to help him get ready for everything! Finally he banished me to "my room" which means my craft room. He said i might know what was happening, but he didnt want me to see it in the works. So while i was banished to my room, i made him this card to thank him for all the hard hard work he put into "making up" for his past birthday blunders...

The stamps are from PaperTrey Ink and is the Out on a Limb set with Out on a Limb Sentiments. It really is a fabulously remarkable stamp set (that i just ordered myself for my birthday) so i cant wait to get lots more use out of it! It'll make some stunning cards!

Oh - and my big surprise for the night was i got a cake for every single birthday he had missed so by the time the cakes stopped rolling in my table was covered with cakes. Imagine the delight of all the 2 and 3 year olds at the party! it was pure heaven. :) Still no card though.... maybe i'll get a card for every year he's missed next year! haha
