My Time Made Easy, Shine ON!

>> Monday, May 30, 2011

2 weeks? Really. And i thought i was doing so well. Ahhhh well... for followers and subscribers of my blog, I do apologize for my lack in posting. May is by far my busiest month when it comes to my makeup artist business. I hav/had 20 weddings this month. Some were bride onlies, some were weddings with large bridal parties. And this doesnt include the consults and portraits! Thats just the wedding part. So yeah, May is a BUSY month!

BUT, get ready for some postin' because Lauren has done it again with another fabby release so I have lots to share with you!

Today I get to share the Fresh Popped template that will be released on June 1st. This release is so up my alley! It's all about movie night, popcorn and fun times! Movie and tv nights are cherished by my family. It's the time that we all curl up on our all too small couch together. This has been a family tradition of mine since I was a kid and it has carried into my family now.
Whether good or bad, the tv is on pretty much all the time. Night time is "adult" tv which basically means nick jr and cartoon network are turned OFF! We still have to be pretty kid friendly, but no cartoons (unless it actually is movie night of course, then we're usually watching a cartoon!) But it's time I get to spend cuddling with my hubby, so i'll take it! :D

Wow, I've gotten off track! Ok, back to this awesome template! Well the fresh popped template is perfectly showcased on LAUREN'S blog as the popcorn totin' movie night template that it is. It really is fun and fabulous and I can't wait to make it into a gift for someone with maybe a blockbuster gift card tucked inside. Can you say perfect teenager or even man gift? Those can be so hard to think of! But, i decided to go a bit untraditional and unmanly with my version to share with you today just to show you a little versatility!

I bring you the Shine On Lip Gloss holder! Ok, so maybe makeup has just fully taken over my brain, but when I saw the digi stamps from the Night at the Movies set, I saw the words "shine on" and immediately thought of my mirrored lipglass from MAC. Sad i know! But then my wheels got to turning... and i thought about what a cute little table topper container this would be to store your most used makeup go tos, or your lip glosses, some makeup brushes could go in there, etc. The great thing about this template is aside from being super easy to put together, you really could make it any color to coordinate with any room and then put whatever you needed from that room inside! My shine on version would be great for a teenage girl, bride to be or any gal pal in your life!

I cut the front and back pieces of my template using my SCAL and cricut (don't even get me started on my rage with provocraft right now, ugh). The front and back actually fit quite nicely on 1 12x12 piece of paper and then I cut the decorative panels using a different color. I love the scallops on this template. Kind of one of those, main that would be a pain to try to do yourself... oh wait, you have a perfect template that cuts or at least lines it perfectly for you! Phew!

Next up, I printed the sentiments i wanted from the Night at the Movies digi stamp set for my template and my card.

I also used the cornish ovals cut file to create my front panel.

Then I assembled, used some stickles to adorn the scallops and some extra rhinestones scattered thruout and I was good to go!!!

And here's a close up of my card. I kept it pretty simple, but mimicked the stripes on the template by cutting strips for my card! Made the matching card as easy as the template was to put together!

So thats my über girlie rendition of the Fresh Popped template! Be sure to check out Lauren, Tangii and Lisa for more outstanding ideas!!!

Copic Creations with PMS plus Thru the Craftroom door AND a design team call!

>> Sunday, May 15, 2011

YEEEAH! I love it when my teams coincide together!!!

It's the 15th, which means the Copic Creations Challenge is issuing another challenge for you!
This round is being sponsored by ME, um, i mean, Paper Makeup Stamps!
Hehehe. I've already had a chance to see what my fellow copic creations gals have some up with and they have COMPLETELY blown me away! If you didnt come over here from there, then you really should check out the Copic Creations Blog! PS - PMS is also sponsoring Thru the Craftroom Door this week! Read on to read about that challenge!

With the warmer weather moving in (yeeeeah, i'm such a sunshiney type of person) the challenge is to use YELLOWS! This is a super fun challenge because you can really get a variety of looks from using the yellow family copic markers!

Here is my card using the new Lea stamp and previously released simple sentiment, Hello Sunshine. Check out all the new releases HERE.

I used a variety of different yellow tones on my card.
Here's a closer image that I will break down my color choices...
I also took this photo a bit at an angle so you could see the twinkling h2o's painting on her wings and kite.
Her hair is colored with Y21, Y26 and a bit of my own made up color Y20 though it's pretty safe to say that the new released YR30 looks about the same as my Y20.
Her dress is Y32, Y35 and Y38 as is her kite, bows, etc.
Her wings are YR31 and YR30.

Thru the Craftroom Door is an online magazine run by 2 of my online buddies, Suzanne Dean (also a fellow Copic Creations team member, i heart her!) and Marti Wills. You really should check out their magazine for some amazing inspiration! But you don't have to be a subscriber to play along! Check out their challenges HERE. The challenge from Thru the Craftroom Door is to use Any WInged thing! Which of course I was able to easily do as well in my card above!

And wait... there is 1 more special announcement...
Paper Makeup Stamps is having a design team call!!!

PMS Blog Hop!

>> Saturday, May 7, 2011

I can NOT believe it's already May 7th?! Thats insane. I swear it was just April 2nd a couple of days ago! Maybe it's because I truly think i'm burning the candle from both ends lately! Haha!
But I can't complain, I have a wonderful family who supports me and 2 jobs (a makeup artist and stamp company owner.... not to mention mommy and wife!) that I just adore! Who gets to live the life of their dreams... THIS GIRL!!!

Ok... back to the hop! If you arent aware, Paper Makeup Stamps is having a release today! While the stamps won't go live on the site until this evening, the Paper Makeup Artists are having a fun hop just to get your taste buds going! This release is really fun for me because PMS is introducing some new and fun ideas into the stamp line. You'll have to go thru the hop to see what i mean! ;) But you'll want to start from the beginning by going to the PMS company blog!

I used the new Background Scenery today for my card... and while my picture isnt the best (too late to find my camera!!!!) , I hope you get a good idea of how FUN this stamp is! And it truly is pretty easy to color, so don't feel intimated in the least!

I used the simple sentiment Have Fun to complete my card making it a good vacation card!
But this scenery could be used for so many different types of cards!

Copic Markers used to color the scenery were... E47, E44, E43, E42, G28, B24, G21, G20, V25, B95, B93, B91, W2, W00

Now before I forget, if you go along the hop, you can collect letters all along the way. The letters will give you a phrase that you use as a voucher to get 15% off anything in the new release! My letter for you is S!

And now your next stop is one of my very best friends! TANGII!!!!!

PMS sneak peeks day 2

>> Thursday, May 5, 2011

If you are looking for my My Time Made Easy post, just scroll down...

I'm not quite sure i could be more tired. hahaha! If you scroll down, you will get to read WHY!
I was so excited to share one of the newest things I am releasing from Paper Makeup Stamps... but i had no gusto left to craft with. It's really sad since i am SO excited about these stamps!

I've taken 2 of the most popular fairy images and turned them into silhouettes!
I just know I'll use them time and time again!

But they will also be available to purchase as a digi stamp!

So in honor of that, I put together a little mini digi picture.
It could easily be printed and hung on a wall! And it took me all of about 2 minutes!
You gotta love that!

Isnt Sprout just the cutest in silhouette form?!
Don't you want her in rubber?! Or digi for that matter!
Well you CAN! On May 7th, at 9pm EST the Paper Makeup Stamps release for May will be live for purchase! Check out the pms blog to see what others have done and to see what other new stamps are being released!

Now scroll down to see my project for my MTME post. I'm very excited about my stamped onesies!!!

MTME: A Year in Review

Sorry for the brief post, but with a 2.5 year old that will NOT go to sleep and it' already after midnight... well... for the mom's reading this post, you feel my pain!

Today the My Time Made Easy team is recapping some of our favorite templates and stamps of the past. I'm cheating a little bit and using current stamps with an older template! :D

Here's my Baby Buggy Bee Bouncer!

Now here's what i'm most excited about... what I stamped to put INSIDE the baby buggy!!!

These just make me want to have another baby! ALmost... and then i remember my 2 year old running around the house at near 1 am! ANd i change my mind!

Ok, back to the onesies... these can easily be taylored to boys or girls. I used the new Bee Mine stamp set. Inked up in memento ink and then colored with copic markers.

Now be sure to check out the rest of the design team from My Time Made Easy as everyone has something fun to share today!

PMS sneak peeks begin: Build a Sentiment

>> Wednesday, May 4, 2011

The latest release from Paper Makeup Stamps is almost here!
Today, some of the design team members are sneaking one of the new sentiment sets to be released called Build a Sentiment.

This set is unlike any other we've released from PMS, but it has been asked for by many, so I decided it was time to honor those requests!

This set has various pieces of sentiments so that you can cater your cards right for that special someone whether they be your mother in law, friend, aunt or cousin!

Or in the case of my card, your neighbor!

Here I used Moody for Fashion. You may remember that she has a somber or more mellow look going perfectly with the sentiment "lonely for you". However I wanted this card to be a happy, thankful card. But i do LOVE this image. So i simply took a fine tipped pen and literally turned that frown upside down. Ok, so that seems a little major. I simply turned up the corner of her mouth so that she has a little smile or smirk on her face. :D It was super easy!

Also used on my card is the swirl from the Springtime Solids set. This is what I used to create my background paper. :D

I used copics to color my card. They are all from the E40 range to create a monochromatic color scheme. Specifically I used E40 for skin with a bit of E42 for shading on her face. E42 and E44 for the shawl and petticoat and the E44, E47 and E49 for the darker articles of clothing.

Be sure to check out the Paper Makeup Stamps Company blog for more samples from the design team as well as your chance to win the entire release!

My Time Made Easy: Oh Bee Hive turned into Cake!

>> Monday, May 2, 2011

If you caught my post yesterday, My Time Made Easy has released a new batch of springy goodness! 2 new stamp sets and 2 new templates!

I already used the Barrow of Blossoms template, so now it's my turn to share the Oh Bee Hive template! However, when I first caught glimpse of this cute template, my first thought was CAKE! Maybe it's because i'm around weddings entirely too much around this time of year, but it just screamed cake tiers at me! I know i'm not the only one because i've already seen some cake renditions (check out Pam's wedding cake!) so I decided to turn mine into a springtime birthday cake!

I used the Sentimental Occasions stamp set to create my cake topper/banner.

And now my weekend has caught up with me! SO while i may be hitting the hay, you really need to be checking out these ladies and their awesome creations for today as well as all the new releases in the MTME store!

Copic Creations Challenge with Lily of the Valley

>> Sunday, May 1, 2011

If you are looking for my My Time Made Easy group blog hop post, please scroll down!

ANd now.. forgive my incredibly brash post as by the time I've gotten to typing this one, I'm pooped beyond belief! Today was a big work day for me, 2 weddings, plus some prom girls and a bachelorette makeup. Total of 17 makeup applications and then 1 hairstyle for the day. I was up at 6am, and it's nearing midnight, so yeah.... it's definitely time for bed!

The copic Creations team is playing with CLOUDS this week! What a fun challenge, huh?
We are being sponsored by Lily of the Valley stamps! My card uses a stamp i've actually had since i first saw Lily of the Vally on a blog and went OMG, i must have those stamps! ANd this is one I've not gotten around to inking up. It was perfect for this challenge!!!

To create my clouds, I first stamped out my image and then a 2nd image on scratch paper which I cut out to create a mask. Then I used some cloud stencils i've had for a couple years (picked them up at a local store) and also the copic airbrush system.

My sentiment is from Paper Makeup Stamps (the coordinating sentiment from Jerry in the clouds).

Be sure to check out the Copic Creations blog for more samples from the design team as well as details on this weeks challenge and to read the winner of our last challenge!

My TIme Made Easy Group Post: For My Bee-Loved

May 1st?! When in the world did it get to be May 1st!!!???

Today, My Time Made Easy has a brand new release! It's very springy and bee themed which is oh so fun! I love bee things which is incredibly funny because I am TERRIFED of bees. As a kid if i so much as saw one across the yard i'd run inside and refuse to go back out! But I still think bee decorations are cute. And I have found the same goes for bee stamps!

Not to mention all the bee and honey puns that are terrific for cards, and let me tell you, these stamp sets do NOT disappoint with fun sentiments!!!!

There are 2 new stamp sets being released! Bee-Loved and Bee-Loved Sentiments. These stamps are available in acrylic and digital formats. :D

Today the My Time Made Easy design team are all sharing 4 cards made with the stamps from this release! Here are mine! They are VERY CAS, but ya know, i kinda like it that way! Sometimes i think a card can look really stellar by being crisp and clean and still be quick and easy to make. Case in point with my cards for you today!

Be sure to check out the rest of the MTME design team today!
