Copic Coloring

>> Thursday, August 20, 2009

This is a chart that was created for the Copic Club at Funkie Munkie last month. Rachel made a chart using all different company stamps. The layout was fantastic, But i wasnt sure on distributing other companies images, so I used digi images of different PMS fairies. I used the fairy heads mainly because I knew i could give myself permission to distribute the digi image in that way. I mean, who's gonna sue me, Me? hahahaha.

Here is my chart...
In Rachel's original chart, the space at the top is to showcase color collections suggested by the copic certified design team members of the store. Since for the class we were just focusing on hair colors, i filled that portion with the colors i used below in the chart, which is why there is blank boxes as well.

There is also an identical chart that shows specifically which colors i used per fairy head. I kinda forgot to take a picture of it. WOOPS! haha. I'll do that and edit it in later.

For those that are interested... here are the fairy heads square by square...

E25, E27, E49

Y21, YR23, E99

E33, E35, E37

E07, E09, E19

YR31, Y21, YR23

W6, W8, W9

E43, E44, E47

E15, E17, E18

E30, E21, E33

I'm very curious to know - what are YOUR favorite copic colors for hair? :) Leave me a comment! I'll draw a winner next wednesday and you could win a copic color of your choice. Ok, of your choice so long as i can get ahold of it, so give me some options! Between the PMS store and Funkie Munkie where i teach, i can get a lot of colors! Oh, and Hobby Lobby too! :)

Thanks for putting this up as I am new to copics and am struggling with hair colours, this is just what I needed. Oh and thanks for my order of yummy new stamps and the tooth fairy :0)
I'm off to write down hair colours.

Amazing chart! Love it! I love the dark brown hair colors you used! 3 of my four girls have dark brown hair, the other is a dirty blond. I need to keep practicing so my copic colored images look as great as yours!

OMG, this chart is AWESOME!!!! Your coloring is absolutely incredible. I'm going to have to try and print out this post. I suck at hair coloring so I can't say that I have a favorite color to use...I just randomly combine things and pray they look ok together, lol.

What an awesome chart! I'm going to try to see if I can print out the hair color numbers. Hair coloring is so difficult! I usually use the light browns as all our family has brown hair.

Thanks for Kip! I expect him to arrive at his new home today or tomorrow! Just love all these fairies!

Love the chart GF! I'm favoriting this page for further reference. My fairies are asking me why I'm being mean and not using them! YIKES!

Thank you so much for posting the hair color images and the colors. Trying to color hair is one area I have trouble with and the color guide is definitely going to come in handy. Because I didn't know the right colors to make blonde hair, I usually just color the hair in any shade of brown. Can't wait to start playing with my Copics to create these great hair colors.

I just love this Katie. I saw it on the PMS blog and I am so impressed and in awe of your color talent!
I don't own ANY Copics. Lol. So I have no idea what my favorite color would be. I color most of my gals as brunettes since that is what I (Currently) am but I also love doing redheads and adding freckles.

This is fantastic Katie. I love the chart. This is so what I needed. I tend to color a lot of brown hair using E33, E37, and E29. Great job on the chart Katie! :)

WOW! What a fabulous resource! Thank you!!!!!

I mostly have Prisma color markers, but the idea is the same and your chart gives me direction for colors and then for the Copics I do have, now I am "in the know!"!

i like to do my fairies in sand and then use either red or dark brown as a highlight. I also like blonde with red highlights. Looks really neat.

Rach really was a genius when she created these charts! I really need to get mine done for her! Although I think between her chart and yours, there aren't any combos I use that aren't listed. I will let u know if I come across any though. Of course if I don't catch up with u, u can check it out when she posts them on the copic munkie blog for sept if I get a chance to do it in time..

This chart is awesome Katie! Thanks so much for posting it! I am pretty lame when it comes to hair - just blonde or brown really. My Copic selection is still pretty limited!! xx

Wow, this is wonderful! I've been wanting to collect all the hair/skin copics for all the different color options, but I don't have an endless supply of money! Oh well! I will collect them little by little. I especially want to be able to color black hair! So the C's will be first on my list to buy. I'm going to go take a closer look at your chart now!f

Ashley Newell Friday, August 21, 2009

Honestly, I have like 6 Copics and so I can't even color hair with them! I love giving stamps brown hair like me though.

Carisa Friday, August 21, 2009

OMG, I love these colors for the different hair - wow, pretty amazing. I definately need some new copics so I can try out that strawberry blonde - I love that. I think I mostly color brunettes, and I use E29, E35 & E37. Thank you for sharing your chart on all the other fabulous hair colors.

Wow Katie! This is a mind blowing resource. Since I'm brunette, I tend to color a lot of brown hair using E33, E35, and E29. But I really want to learn to reds (since I'm a faux redhead at times). TFS!!!

I agree...Great resource...I added this to my "Share" box on my blog!

Heather Huggins Saturday, August 22, 2009

Wow this is super awesome!! Totally love the idea. I'm going to make me up one and go get those fairies.. Thank you!! I can't wait to see the other girls charts. I don't have a favorite yet I just go grab a couple and try it out.
