Ahhhh... TGIF! I neeeeed friday after this week of catch up! But it has been glooomy here! I hate gloomy weather! I dont mind a little summer rain, but i need blue sky and a rainbow right after! It has been grey and blech-ie here and it just really effects my mood! On top of that, i've had either allergies or a head cold that has just made me have a constant headache for a few days. No fun at all!

But, i did manage to squeak out this card for PMS's friday freebie! I truly love how this word art turned out, so i think it just might be turned into a stamp later in the game. :) Just an FYI! :)

Here is my card...

Now what I like about the Friday Freebies is that they are available in both jpg and PNG which means digi scrappers - there is a perfect on for you! How gorgeous would this wordart look on a layout abouta special someone in your life? But it makes an equally fantastic card to GIVE to that person. Yes i love this quote! :)

Shirley's 2 girls Card!

>> Thursday, September 17, 2009

Hello everyone! Today i got the chance to use some stamps from a stamp company that was new to me! What what what?! Something new?! Haha. yes, because much to my dismay, there are many many companies out there that i dont even know about let alone have tried!

This company is called Shirley's 2 Girls. Funkie Munkie Scraps carries many many stamps from this line and the other day, Steephanie (owner of the store) asked if i could make up some sample cards using this stamp line. A chance to break out of my box... of course!

Here is a card i made using the set called "Groovy!". It comes with 4 sentiments (i only chose 1, obviously) and a rather large image stamp. Oh, and the stamp set is all clear. The Polymer is extremely thick polymer as well. No worries of tearing these bad boys!

Here is my card...

Now funny enough, i said, i really wish i had a peace sign or something like that as an embellishment. I peeked into my embellie table (yes i have a table with 4 clear tops with little bins all inside of it) and low and behold... in the misc bin i had 1 lone peace sign brad! How funny is that!

Here are

Stamps
Groovy! from Shirley's 2 Girls

Coloring with Copics:
Skin: E00, E21
Hair: "E23", E25

Clothing: B91, B93, Y12, RV000, RV10, G20, G21, G24
Background BG0000

Paper: All from the scrap bin!

Tools and Accessories
Ribbon from American Crafts
Peace Sign Brad - no idea where it came from!  From my crafting Angel??  :)

Tonight I have my copic club meeting at Funkie Munkie.  Stay tuned for some pictures of what we create and then some how we did it posted on the Copic Munkie blog!

Halloween Hoppin'!

>> Tuesday, September 15, 2009

I'm your last stop on this Halloween Blog Hop! Are you spooked yet?! These halloween monsters (even though they arent all monsters) illustrated by my pal Steve Hammond are just too fun! Sorry they werent able to be released last week with the normal September release. But weren't they worth the wait!

Ok, enough rambling, here's my card!

I used the Mummy stamp for my card. Isnt he super fun! I love that he's just spooky enough without being too much. :) And he was actually a lot of fun to color too!  I used my copics of course!

I also paired him with one of the sentiments from the Spooky Sentiments set.

My paper is some retired SU paper called Rock a Billy (i think). It's super fun because it's embossed and shiny in spots!

Dont forget to leave a comment here and on each design team member's blog!  1 lucky commenter at random will be chosen to win the whole set!  And if you want to go shopping now... dont worry!  If you are the lucky winner you can either be refunded for your purchase or you can simply choose replacement stamps!

My baby is 1!

>> Monday, September 14, 2009

Time to get back into the swing of things!  The stamp convention went well this weekend (so says Stephanie... i was only there for an hour!).  My Baby's first birthday party was very fun.  Small and sweet... just like my little dude.  :)  Today is the day that he actually turns 1 and i just can't believe it!  It doesnt seem like all that long ago that i was pregnant!!!!  My folks leave today as well (sniff sniff).  But i am itchin' to get crafty after a week of packin' stamps and then birthday celebrating all weekend!  My fingers need to see some ink!!!!

But before that happens, here are some pictures from this weekend!

New birthday present from Gramma and Bopi!

Gabe sittin' in the rocks... a favorite pastime!

One of the less messy cake pictures!

Gabe fell asleep right after his bath from the cake-tastrophe (by the way, i think i was listening to someone's story...not just vacantly looking out in the distance... hahaha)

He's still got those baby cheeks!

After Gabe woke up and discovered his balloon!

Ok, thats all i have for today!  Check back in tomorrow for a special halloween blog hop!

I've got a CASE of PMS!

>> Wednesday, September 9, 2009

Man oh Man!  The release party form PMS on Monday was an absolute blast.  But i stayed up til 2 am!  I still havent caught up!  But all the stamps are live on the site and all orders placed have been packed and either shipped or are ready to ship!

So now i get to share with you a card i made for the first of 2 release party challenges!

First, we have 2 release party challenges at every release party.  One is always "I have a CASE of PMS" in which there is some specification of who or what card to case.  This time was pretty general.... just to case ANY card in the PMS gallery on splitcoast!

I chose Shana's card you can see HERE.

I also chose to use a sneak peek of some of the Halloween Monsters that will be released in rubber a little later this month.  Yes a secondary release in September!  Due to some unavoidable circumstances, they werent ready to be released on the 7th.  :)

Here is my card...

I couldnt actually decide which version i liked better... with or without the addition of the googlie eyes.  I like the monsters shifty eyes to begin with.  but the googlie eyes remind me of coke bottle eyes and just crack me up!

If you want to participate in this fun challenge, read all about it HERE

Stamps: Tricker Treater by Paper Makeup Stamps (sneak peek, available mid september)
Sentiment from Monster Sentiments from Paper Makeup Stamps

Coloring/Copics
Alien: V00, V12, V15
Space Suit: C0, C1, C3
Greens: YG11, YG13
Horns: E43
Glass Helmet: C00

I have no idea... it was in the scrap bin!

Tools and Accessories
Ribbon from Hobby Lobby

PMS blog hop!

>> Monday, September 7, 2009

If you've just happened to come across my blog... you should start back at the beginning of the blog hop. You wouldnt want to miss out on your coupon code, or chance to win $25 bucks, would ya?! :) I didnt think so. If you've just hopped here from Dawn Wheeler's then you are at the right place! :)

I actually have 2 cards to show you! I know *GASP* right? And after this very busy makeup filled weekend, sitting down to make a card (even when at midnight) was a nice change of pace. :)

Here is the first card I've made for your eyes. It uses the color challenge last week from splitcoast to use Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay. I also paired it with the Sketch Challenge 244 from splitcoast because quite frankly, after 2 days of work and not starting my card until midnight... my mojo is pretty much sapped! :) but i was happy with the outcome of my card.

You may remember this sentiment from the friday freebie a few weeks back. Well... it has now been rubberized by popular request (which means it will soon be removed from the digi wordart collection).

Here is my card...

The one thing i really want to point out on this card is the swirlie border along the edges of the sentiment. You know that fun swirl you see on so much of the PMS stuff (in the logo, watermarks for the design team, blinkies, buttons for blogs, etc...) Well that fun swirl has made it's way into rubber! So it is a perfect little something to add to card edges, etc. You can layer it as i did here, or just leave it as it's pretty swirlie self.

Paper is the above mentioned colors along with some razzleberry lemonade patterned paper pack stuff from SU. And the ribbon is bermuda bay dotted ribbon.

My next card for you uses one of the fairies. I used the AHA or Heart Fairy. And i wanted to share the background story of this fairy with you. Diem Pascarella, illustrator for the beautiful day fairies, approached me with the idea of a charity stamp. her cousin recently suffered what they thought might be a heart attack but turned out to be a cardiac arrythmia. Diem wanted to do a fairy holding a heart and said she would love if a portion of this stamp could do to the American Heart Association. And I love a charitable cause, so i told her i would love to do this! So a portion of all Heart Fairies sold from the PMS site, will go directly to the American Heart Association.

Here is my card...

This sentiment is also available in rubber this month.

Now onto my letter for your code.... My letter for you is the letter M. Now hop along to Ms Kim Stewart. I'm sure what she has for you is nothing short of extraordinary!

Dont forget to come to the party tonight at 9pm CST to see all the new releases live in the shop as well as try to win some freebies, play some games AND see some sneaks that havent been shown yet earlier in the week!

My love for coffee...

>> Sunday, September 6, 2009

...is about as big as my love for apples. hahahahaha. I love any warm drink really. Hot apple cider being one of them too of course!

When I asked cynthia if she could draw up some coffee cups and things, i never had any idea how in love with them I would be! They are so different from the other coffee sets i've seen (which i think i own them all). Now i'm not knockin' the other stamp companies. I love their sets, but I'm very happy to have my own coffee set! And it has some super fun and fab wordart and sentiments to go with it put together by Shaela Odd.

Now, that i've talked up the coffee set, called Caffeine Trip (to be released on September 7th at 9pm CST), i dont exaaactly have a sneak for you of it. Instead i used one of the Moody Girls (also designed by cynthia). But she is the Moody for Coffee girl! :) And i love her! I paired her with one of the sentiments from the Caffeine Trip set. Dont forget to check out the PMS blog to see all the fun and funky cups and sentiments in this set!

Here is my card...

I'm telling you, i could color these moody girls all day long. They are just so much fun! Maybe i'll do a tutorial on how i like to color them soon. :)

Here is a close up of Ms. Moody's face...

And you might notice, the image itself is raised. I embossed it while in the nestie. And then i look my version of a paler R81 copic marker (an empty with r81 refill various ink and blender solution) and colored in the non raised portion.

With the snetiment, i also embossed it in the nestie, but i used my airbrush to give it a little color.

OH, and you see that ribbon? Look in the above photo, you can see it peeking out. Well that is the saddle stitched ribbon from the SU in colors a few years back. The white side stitch was too jaring against the rest of my card that was predominately pomegranate and pink... so you know what i did? I color over the white with a copic marker. It worked FANTASTICALLY. I was thrilled with my idea after. I'm going to start coloring EVERYTHING to match! :)

Here's...

I get by with a little help from my friends

>> Saturday, September 5, 2009

Here is my card....

Apples to Apples, oh how i love apples!

>> Friday, September 4, 2009

I love apples!  Really, truly, madly.  Ask my mom.  She could never keep enough apples in the house when i was a kid.  Sometimes i would eat 3 a day.   And i still drink apple juice daily.  Apple pie is my most favorite desert.  And since it's starting to turn to fall, i get to start drinking hot apple cider!  Oh how i love apples!

So when Shaela Odd gave me her design for this apple set, i was BEYOND thrilled!  Super yummy delicious APPLES!

I picked out my paper for this card, and then didnt even use it.  I used another sheet from the same summer picnic paper line from Stampin Up (was it called that?  i cant remember.  Which by the way, since they wont let their peeps advertise for me anymore (even when they are my friends, does that mean i should stop advertising for them? For free?  :-O  Did i just type that out loud.  ;)

Ok, enough of that!  Here's my card!

The funny thing is... i was SO excited to use this set, that i forgot to think of HOW i would use it.  So instead i just sat here and looked at the rubber for the longest time.  So many fun apples.  How do i choose which one to use?  And then i just said, i'll use them all!  But i didnt.  There is actually an apple with a bite taken out of it and an apple core and an apple slice that i didnt use.  hahaha.  SO i started just stamping away, and ended up with 6 on a scrap piece of card.  And i said.... i like it!  and the card kinda just built itself from there.  I love it when it comes together easy!

Now dont forget to go to the PMS company blog to see what some of the other design team members were up to with this set!  We decided to let it be digi as well so you can play with the apple sizes!  :)  Now go check it out and leave a comment (on the company blog, leave one here too if ya want though) and you could win the set!

My BFF is a fairy!

>> Thursday, September 3, 2009

It's another day of sneak peeks over at the PMS blog. To see 3 new fairies being released, go over there to check it out!

I'm VERY excited about my fairy to show you today! When chatting with Diem (the illustrator of the Beautiful Day Fairies for Paper Makeup Stamps), I told her i really wanted a fairy for my BFF, Rachel.

Now Rachel is a true dometic goddess! I know you all have one in your lives. You know, the one who's home is always emaculate. She's got some glorious delicious dinner cooking (even if it's only noon). She's got a scrumptious dessert waiting in the refridgerator. And she's done all of this while simultaneously creating some ridiculously cute craft for her child to take to school. Yes, she's THAT mom. She's also the mom who always finds everything on sale. Oh, and did i mention she looks good while doing all of this? This picture of us is very old by the way! Rachel now sports this über cute bob hair cut. Of course she does. ;) She's a domestic goddess!

Here's my life... my house, though my best intentions are to keep it clean, always has toys strewn about, laundry to be put away, and is very very very lived in. There is never dinner cooking on the stove or crockpot or anywhere earlier than 20 minutes before dinner because i dont have a clue how to cook. There might be some dessert somewhere though. I never find things on sale, but rather have to run to the stores after Rachel calls me to tell me to go and even then i miss it half the time. And most of my clothes are Rachel hand me downs as she either gets skinnier than i am, or she's giving me clothes she's traded for her new sales duds. Yes, this is my life. *sigh*

But having Rachel for the BFF is fantab. Because she always remembers to call me about such sales. I DO get the "hand me down" clothes, which of course due to her domestic goddess ways have been well taken care of and you'd never know. She makes my dinners FOR ME and brings me snacks. And she's always ready with some crafty mojo. She is my muse. Not to mention she cuts all my rubber for me! hahahahaha.

She's the domestic goddess everyone should have in their lives! Oh, and our kids are going to get married. :)

Without much further ado, i give you my Rachel card!

Please notice that i left the bristles of her broom white because though rachel cleans often, there really isnt much to clean. I tried to help a bit while she was sick and wanted to clean for her... but there was still nothing to clean! So instead of coloring her broom. I added Spica pen so it shimmers! hahahahaha. I also added some spica pen to her hair and wings. Its hard to photograph of course, but i tried!

So since my pst has already gotten incredibly wordy... i think i'll just skip right down to...
