Today I have a sneak peek of one of the new fairy stamps from PMS. This was a request from one of the PMS fans! So dont forget if you have a suggestion - make it! It just may turn up as a stamp soon!

Ok... here she is....

Paper is all Stampin Up and the ribbon is from PaperTrey Inc. Pearls are from kaisercraft and rhinestones are Studio G. Flowers are Prima and the branch punch is by Martha Stewart.

She is colored with copics... and for my club ladies... here are the colors used...

Skin: E00, E000, E31, E02 (cheeks)
Hair: E25, E27, colorless blender
Shirt: B41, B45

I totally cased this card

>> Wednesday, March 25, 2009

I totally CASEd Kim's card from the other day. I thought it was just so stinkin' cool and i needed a project for the gals to create today at Chic Fil A. So we made the above card. I was very pleased with how it turned out and the ladies were very pleased that it was much easier than they thought it would be!!!!

I used Starstruck from PMS for my card. The small stars are stamped in Crystal Blue ink from Close to my Heart and then the stardust swirl was stamped in Heavenly Blue from Close to my Heart. The sentiment is also from the set.

Thanks for taking a peek today! I really need to get a few cards done for some friends so i'll be busy stampin' away this rainy day!!!! Hope everyone else gets a chance to do the same!

I typically have my posts sticking to things of crafty nature. But every once in awhile i'll stick a picture of a kid or 2. Usually funny pictures of the baby and what happens to the baby when the 3 year old gets ahold of him. Thats what happened again.
Jack (my 3 year old) wanted to feed the baby. I said that was ok, because i really needed to get a load of laundry in the wash and afterall, my washing machine is in my kitchen. No harm no foul right? hmmmmmmm.

Paper Makeup Tuesday

Hello everyone! Today i have a sneak peek to share... but the good news is you can preorder it NOW! Preorders for the PMS april releases are now thru March 30th. You save 10% when you preorder and preorders go out first. The actual release isnt until April 7th. :)

Onto the card...

This card uses Dawdling Turtle and his matching sentiment. Now i love turtles, and i LOVE this sentiment so i'm sure i'll use this set bunches. What i particularly like about this stamp is it works well for masculine cards as well. The turtle is cute, but not toooooo cute, know what i mean? I started coloring him, and my son "wanted to help". Mind you he's 3. So i remind him he cant use mama's markers. And he said "i just wanna pick which colors you need". At this point i go... wonderful, i'm going to end up with a purple turtle! So i tell him to go ahead and figure i can always color a new one a little later. The green part of the turtle was already done. And he said his back needs to be orange!". Ok, so i'm going to end up with an orange turtle. He pulls out the E07 copic marker. Now it does look kind of orange. And i said, are you sure? he said YES MAMA! This one! And proudly hands it to me. I reluctantly start coloring him. Then all of the sudden i said... wait a minute... this color looks great as his back. HAHAHAHA. My child is a better artist than me.

I used Christi's sketch from the PMS blog for my card. I altered the sketch a smidgen and didnt make it all square. Normally i love square cards, but this time, i just wanted a rectangle.

If you want to play along with the challenge go to the PMS blog and link your card up to MR LINKY so that it can go in the Sunday Showoff. If uploading to a publig gallery like PCP or SCS please use PMSSC03 in your tagline. :)

More with the swirly tree!

>> Friday, March 20, 2009

I told you i've been playing with the Swirlie Tree this week! Well, i had already been playing with the tree because i felt like i wasnt giving it enough love (i have entirely too many stamps that need love!) but then i saw THIS CHALLENGE from the Etsy Inspired Challenges blog. Now those who are long time readers know i was the guest designer for this team a bit back and sadly i havent had the time to participate in their challenges much as of late. But they are seriously a fantastic bunch of ladies that use others art to inspire more art! I really should make sure i do these more! And they is often a prize even! This week it's $20 gift certificate donated by the wonderful Marti of Pez a Doodle. I knew of this shop before i knew Marti. But now that i "online" know her, i really enjoy this shop! :) Bonus she's giving everyone a 10% discount this week that read about this challenge! Use etsy10 at check out! Isnt she fab?

Ok, on to my entry... using the swirlie tree was kinda a given for me considering so many of the wonderful artworks from TR MACK STUDIO have trees in it! The colors of the artworks are outstanding too! I just HAD to create a card no matter how late or tired i was!

Here's my card...

here is the painting i was originally using as my muse!

I inked up the swirlie tree in onxy black versafine ink. (my FAV ink when just stamping something in black!) It just gives such a flawless coverage! I stamped it right on top of some patterned paper (from an old storybox pack i have from creative memories). The pp was perfect because it already had those spots on it. I then sponged around the tree with a blue ink just to help it stand out a bit. I added some pearls to the tree to simulate some of the other need ideas in the artists paintings.
Then i just inked up the word Hope form this quote. I used a black CTMH marker to only get the letters i wanted. And then i added some black spica pen because lately no card is complete without a spica pen for me! haha.
I decided to mat the sentiment on red because of some of the contrasting colors the artist uses like in this painting here...

This is is a seriosuly easy inspiration challenge! You have until noon today Pacific time (which for the east coasters like me, that 3, so plenty of time!) to get a card done, upload it and then link it back to the etsy inspired challenge post and you are entered to win!!! :)

Some love for a tree

Man! Is it already FRIDAY!? How does that happen?! Especially when i have cards to post. hahah. Well, it has been a busy week i suppose.

I've been playing a bit this week with the Swirly Tree from Paper Makeup Stamps. Its a fun tree. I'm proud of it.

FIRST, this card was created for the FREE class at chic fil a (for those in the are in the area - wednesday morning, 10:30-11:30 on Pelham rd... fun stuff!). The ladies who are often NON stampers, really thought this was a fun card. It was easy, while LOOKING complex. :)

I got the idea for this card off of Christi's super fab card here It's not exactly a CASE, BUT i totally got the idea of using the swirlie tree to create a background! Her card is AMAZING!

First i had everyone stamp the tree in some close to cocoa ink and we stamped it just around the border. This was easier than creating an entire sheet of background paper. Then we swapped out our brown ink for some light pink (pink pirouette) ink and stamp the tree over a smaller sheet of paper. We stamped our sentiment (a clear stamp from CTMH) over the top of the pink tree. Easy Peasy! The mat is cut from a nestabilities die (which i had done before the class... not quite enough room at chic fil a for all the tools!) and then it's popped up using some foam squares with a piece of ribbon lying underneath. You can see a closer look here...

So this card was done on tuesday and i'm uploading it friday. WOOPS! Now i have to upload my other tree card. hehe. Which you may have already seen because it's actually going to be the post above this one. :)

A case of the mondays!

>> Monday, March 16, 2009

Oh we are SO having a case of the Mondays in our house today! The baby has a cold. Never fun for a little one who just doesnt understand what's going on. The 3 year old has had 2 potty accidents! He's fully trained. I have no idea why he's doing this today. I'm tired from a baby being up all night. The cat is out of food. it's rainy out so the dog cant go out. Just a case of the mondays! BUT, i did finally get both boys to take naps and i got a challenge card done from the PMS challenges! Dont forget to check out these challenges! There is a $10 gift certificate that is being awarded for each one!!! You have thru next sunday to enter! but get them in by saturday night if you want to be in the Sunday Showoff. :)

Challenge 2 was a color challenge. Use Green, Orange and White. Sounds simple enough... when you're making a St Patricks Day card! Too bad i was using the Birthday Lauren digi! haha. So i added a color. Woops. I guess i'm the owner, i'm allowed. HAHAHAHAHA.

For those that missed the digis yesterday (they were sneak peeks and available for 1 day only) They are being turned into rubber as I type and will be available in April. :)

Ok, onto the coloring...
I used my copics. Love them as always. And my Spica Pens. and *GASP* for some reason my camera actually picked up some of the glint of the spica pens sparkle! Not all of it, but some so you can see where it's been added. :)

Colors: Skin: E00, E31, E000
Dress: YR00, YR02
Petticoat: YR20, YR23
Wings: BG000
Present: G21, G24, G28
Outline: C1

Thanks everyone for stopping by today!

PMS Blog Hop with a Sneak Peek!

>> Sunday, March 15, 2009

I have been so excited for this day to get here! It's the First every PMS Party and Blog Hop!!!!
There really is SO much in store for you all today! Go over to the Paper Makeup Stamps blog for all the super fun details!!!!

Here's my card today! It's using one of the soon to be released stamps in April. BUT BONUS! It's going to be available as a digi stamp today only! Dont go running to the Paper Makeup site just yet.... It's not available until the party starts at 3:00 EST!

Now some of you may know, most of the fairies are named by my 3 year old, Jack. He names then after his friends names usually based on what their hair looks like. Up until now, all the fairies have been girls. Well, after some thought (and some nudging by PMS fans) i thought there really should be some little boys too! Diem (the illustrator of the fairy line) and I talked over what a boy fairy would look like. And i told her how fun it might be to have some little rascals. For example, my 3 year old LOVES to play with rocks. I mean, he's a magnet to them! He just loves to play with rocks! So Diem drew up this little cutie for me! Isnt he PERFECT! His hair even flips out like jacks! I adore him! Well of course i had to name this fairy JACK! :)

So here he is! I'm so pleased with him. Can you tell, i'm beaming for head to toe! But i think i'm going to be on this high all day!

So dont forget... there is already some preparty chatter going on over in the PCP forum. There will be challenges and games and prizes starting at 3.

HIP HOP, HORRAY, HO, HA, HO

Hey everyone!!! It's Hip Hop Thursday! I love my hip hop thursdays! I know i havent been posting as much unity stuff (well until this week!) Truth be told... i've ust had a lot on my plate (ya think?!). But since this week was my turn for the week in Unity i got to pour thru my pretty extensive collection of Unity Stamps (go check them out, they have so many cool stamps its redonculous!). I kinda fell in love all over again. THey have a very fun quirky style of stamps that have this sassy organic feel to them. Didnt think something could be sassy AND organic did ya? Check them out, you'll understand what i mean!

My mojo this week has been very pink. Kinda strange, i'm not usually this floral in my colors! Maybe it's the nice weather we've had this week making me think of spring! :)

Here's my card for today (little shameless plug, we'll be working on coloring this flower image tonight in my class at Funkie Munkie. If you cant make it tonight, no problemo, there is a repeat of this class later this month! You can always see my classes on my sidebar!)

Even though these arent my typical colors, i'm loving how this card turned out! I took a flower from Unity's august kit of the month and stamped it in a random patterned on some Georgia Pacific cardstock. I then colored in the petals with 2 different copic markers per shade. The colors used were BG13, BG15, RV21, RV23, BV00, BV02.
Then i took coordinating spica pens to outline each petal. The effect was perfect for what i was wanting. I stamped 1 extra flower image on a scrap piece of cardstock and colored it the same was as the others and then popped it up on the card.
The sentiment is from Unity's September kit of the month.

here's a picture of the whole card... it didnt capture the spica pens sparkle at all which is why i'm showing it 2nd! But i did want you to get the view of the whole card as well. :)

Photobucket

Now dont forget to leave your comments on the Unity cards. I will do a random drawing AFTER my class tonight and will post the winner on here and in the HIP HOP forum on splitcoast so it likely wont be posted until 9:30-10 EST. I was going to do it beforehand but then i thought that just gave some ladies less of a chance to WIN. We dont want that! :)

Unity Day 3

>> Wednesday, March 11, 2009

OMG! I am SO sorry for everyone that came by yesterday only to read my babble with no card! I have no idea what happened. I know i was uploading it! But my internet has pretty much been on the fritz since saturday and then late last night it went out completely. I couldnt even sneak my neighbor's wireless to make my posts! ACK! So i had a few phone calls this morning about my boo boo and i couldnt even fix it! hahaha.

I PROMISE to make sure the card is uploaded this time!

Ok - today is day 3 for my week in Unity. If you have no idea what i'm taking about, scroll to the posts below where i explain it all. :) But most important to know if when you leave a comment, you get entered to win a free stamp from Unity! WOOT!

Here is my card for the day...

I had too much fun playing with some techniques for this card! First i stamped this Have a Heart Cupcake onto white cardstock 2 times. One of them i colored in with copics (ok, honestly i only colored the outer edges since i know you wouldnt see the middle) and i colored the base of that one as well. I was being a little quick about it since i was in a time crunch and *GASP* i didnt shade. :) It's just the copic b12 color.
On the other cupcake i took some pink liquid applique (given to me by my wonderful friend jacquie). And i suddenly realized it was gonna take a lot of my precious applique to cover thsi super sized cupcake. So i smooshed it around with my finger. Yes, thats a technical term. :D
So once the whole thing was covered (it took hardly any product since i was smoooooooshing it) i let it sit and took the kiddos out for the day. Then i came home and heated it up with my heat tool. FYI the manufacturers f liquid applique say to leave the product for 24 hours. i rarely leave it 2 minutes because i'm impatient. haha. In this case, because i didnt let it wait terribly long (about 6 hours) and because my smooshing wasnt at all even, there isnt a even level of puff. Which is think is perfect for a cupcake, so yippie me! I cut out the just the frosting part and then used foam to pop it up on top of the other stamped image. I wanted a smidgen something more so i added the pearls. I'm really pleased with the outcome, especially since i had no plans when i started the card! :D

Here is a close up view of the cupcake in all her 3D glory...

So thats pretty much it. The layout is simple enough because i wanted the cupcake as my focus. That and my house was full of mayhem (all mommies know the type) so i was pleased to even get the card done!

Ok, dont forget to check in tomorrow for another unity card (hopefully posted in the AM instead of the PM!) and then tomorrow night at HIP HOP (probably around 6 just before i leave to teach my color class) i'll announce the comment winner!!! :)

Unity day 2

>> Tuesday, March 10, 2009

ETA: I added the picture... i dont know what happened to it before! Stupid internet!!!!

Sorry this post is WAY late! We are still having some internet issues! That and we were out much longer than expected today. I thought after my "quick" errands this morning i'd have time to get this post up. Um... wrong.

Anyhoo - here is day 2 of my unity all week. If you dont know what unity all week is... each week there is a new unity gal and she posts a card everyday using unity stamps. Out of all the comments put on those cards, 1 is randomly chosen on thursday at hip hop to win a free Unity stamp. very fun. :)

Onto the card...

This card uses lots of images from the Bitty Boutique set. I just think this set is so fun and flirty! The images (which are all separate stamps, i just stamped them into a scene) were all inked with memento ink and colored with copic markers. I hate to break it to my copic fans... but i did this one super fast and i'm not even sure what i used! *GASP* that and i'm nursing a migraine so my eyes cants even focus! I do know the purples are in the BV0 family (i think BV00, BV02 and BV04) and all the browns are from E41, E43, E44 and E47 just used differently for different shading. Pink may be RV2 somethings? Like i said... brain not functioning well!

That patterened paper is actually from the packaging of a PTI stamp. I throw nothing away! Seriously! The name of the stamp set on the paper is just covered by my image.

The sentiment is from another unity set called "hey chick"

I know my flowers and rhinestones are a bit random. My 3 year old really wanted to help make the card so i let him put that part on for me. haha.

Ok, thats it for me tonight. Off to rest my eyes! The computer screen is way not helping!

PMS challenge - POST 2

>> Monday, March 9, 2009

This is post 2 for the day!!! If you're here to see my Unity All Week posting, scroll down (or better yet read this post and then just keep going! :)

Today is Monday which means another challenge from Paper Makeup Stamps. What?! I'm actually doing the challenge ON MONDAY?! I know, it's shocking!

The challenge this week is an embellishment challenge. It's simple enough, use 2 forms of bling. I went a little overboard. :)

My stamp is Chelly with Clover from Paper Makeup Stamps. The little shamrock stamps in the corner are by Studio G.

I used a spica pen on part of her clothes (hard to see in the photo), and some frost stickles on her wings. For the rest of the card i used some fab glittery paper by Best Creations, some Bazzill Bling cardstock, some shiny satin ribbon and then topped it off with a rhinestone. I love me some bling. I also love St Patty's Day. It was a win win situation. haha.

For my copic loving friends... here's my breakdown of copics used...

Skin: E00 and E21, Hair: E08 and E09, Shirt, Shorts and Clover: G21, G28, green spica; Skirt: BG10, BG11; Boots: E33, E35.

Unity All Week!

It's my turn ladies! Time for Unity All Week! What does that mean? That means there will be a new unity creation posted on my blog every day this week. You leave comments after these posts and then 1 lucky person will be drawn from the comments to win a free stamp from Unity during HIP HOP this week. Fun, huh?!

Now this past week was a busy one for me including this past weekend! I've really been missing my stamp time and I am very ready for the challenge of posting every single day! haha. Hopefully it will help me get back into the swing of blog life! :)

This card i made this morning for a friend of mine. She said last night she "couldn't always poop out rainbows and butterflies". I was dying laughing. But in reality, she was feeling some stress. So i made her this rainbow butterfly card with a sentiment to let her know i'm never too far away. :)

I used a butterfly from the July kit of the month and my sentiment is from the september kit of the month. The grass is from a set called flirty flowers

I stickled everything on this card. I mean glitter makes people happy, right? Each butterfly has the same color stickle on it. And then i decided to go all out and outline the butterfly with stickles too. Gotta love stickles, man!
Here's the best close up shot i could get so you could see all that yummy glitter.

So thats all for now! :) Check back in later!

catching up with a challenge!

>> Thursday, March 5, 2009

Ok, so i think i'm finally caught up in the world. Ok, i'm probably no where close and my house could really use some cleaning help but at least i dont feel like i'm lagging behind anymore!!!

I actually have gotten a little crafty this week, just not with much to show anyone. Yesterday i helped teach a card class at Chic Fil A (yep, that's right, chic fil a) and it was so much fun! If you live in the area - it's at the Pelham Rd Chic Fil A on wednesday mornings, 10:30-11:30 all thru the month of march. It's hosted by Stephanie at Funkie Munkie Scraps and i'm just helping out. :)

Ok, now onto my card...

This week's challenge over on the PMS blog was to take some inspiration from Diem's (the illustrator of the fabulous fairies) artwork. Now, mind you i issued this challenge, but I'm not so good with inspiration challenges. I tend to take them very literally. And i did again on this card, but i had fun. :)

First, here's my card...

This card is so far out of my comfort zone it isnt even funny! haha. But i love this set. And i put 3 of my all time favorite quotes in this set. AND i have never even inked it up since it was first in my hot little hands! Not good! So it was high time that i used it. My favorite painting in Diem's gallery was this one below. And the starstruck set was perfect for it!

My other goal on this card was to use some things i havent opened. Its going to be my mission for the next WEEK i think!!! I have entirely too many stamps that havent seen ink, packages oh paper untouched and product still in the cellophane. Its a travesty i tell you!

So, whats new on this card? Never opened embossing powder in enchanted gold. paper untouched from papertrey ink in plum pudding. sponge dauber (a big one!) never used. pearls from kaisercraft still in packaging. and my baja breeze ink pad that if i have used it, it hasnt been enough! :)

enjoy and i'll catch up with everyone soon hopefully with more cards!!!!

Happy New Release Day!

>> Sunday, March 1, 2009

Hiya everyone! It's new release day! Yippiee! It feels a little strange since the preorders have been open, not too big or grand to show ya, but everything is here, items are shipping out and that makes me HAPPY! I cant believe we've even sold out of a few! Most of te fairies are down to just a few left so if you want them now, go place your order! never fear though, more stock should be in by the end of next week.

I wanted a share another card i did for the etsy hop yesterday using the Swirlie tree from Paper Makeup!.

Sara issued a challenge of using anything clear... fun! I decided to use a transparency. Did you know it's very hard to photograph a transparency sheet??
Here's my card...

First i stamped the swirlie tree on the transparency sheet with Timber Brown stazon ink.
I used my nestabilities to cut out the window in my card. And then i just layered the transparency sheet behind it. On the inside of my card i used some pretty pink patterned paper and stamped my sentiment by stampabilities right on the patterned paper. The front of my card needed a boost too so i added some flowers, pearls, and butterfly punch outs from my martha stewart punch.

The whole card came together SUPER fast and i was very pleased with the outcome. You have until March 3rd to enter your card to win on saras blog! Go check it out!!!!!
